In case you’ve somehow missed it, oat milk is everywhere.

The oat milk market was valued at 2.19 billion dollars in 2021 and is expected to grow to 6.45 billion by 2028.

One reason oat milk may be so popular is that it’s a dairy-free option that’s also free of nuts and soy, which are two other common food allergies.

(Oats are also naturally gluten-free, although that’s usually not a concern with milks).

Another reason may be that many brands add fat to their oat milk to help it froth up, making rich lattes and beautiful latte art.

And oat milk isn’t just for coffee!

You can use it in place of milk in almost any recipe — smoothies, baked goods, creamy soups, sauces, and more — or just pour it over cereal or have a glass with cookies.

Below are a few of the best oat milk options that are also widely available.

They all do pretty well nutritionally, so try them out and see which you like best.

1. Califia Farms Zero Sugar Oatmilk

Water, oats, sunflower oil, minerals, salt, and monk fruit concentrate combine to make this creamy plant-based beverage.

Compared to other oat milks, the Califia Farms zero sugar option is fairly low in carbs with only 12 grams per 100-calorie cup and zero grams of sugar.

You’ll also get a fifth of your daily calcium needs.

Get it online or at a store near you.

2. Oatly Low-Fat Oatmilk

Oatly adds more vitamins and minerals to its oat milk, so you get vitamin D (20%), calcium (25%), iron (2%), potassium (8%), vitamin A (20%), riboflavin (45%), phosphorus (20%), and B12 (50%) in a 90-calorie cup of their Low-Fat option.

Getting half of your vitamin B12 from this is pretty great, as it’s essential for red blood cell formation, neurological function, and DNA synthesis.

And since it’s often found in animal foods, fortified milks alternatives like this are great for vegans and vegetarians.

Get Oatly on Amazon or at a store near you.

3. Planet Oat Original Oatmilk

Another option with only 90 calories and no added sugars, Planet Oat Original is fortified with calcium, potassium, riboflavin, and vitamins A, D, and B12.

The oat milk also contains gellan gum, a natural carbohydrate that helps to stabilize the drink and add thickness.

And don’t be thrown off by this “gum” addition — according to a 2018 article published in EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) Journal, gellan gum is safe to consume.

Get it at a store near you.

4. Pacific Foods Organic Oat Original

This option may be most caloric of this bunch coming in at 130 calories per cup with 25 grams of carbs, but it also has 4 grams of protein.

If you’re worried about the 17 grams of sugar (good eye), don’t worry — they’re all-natural.

The FAQ section on the Pacific Foods Oat Original page explains that during their process to turn oats into “milk,” enzymes are added to break down the oats, which creates those natural sugars.

But per the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) rules, those sugars must be listed in the nutrition panel as “added sugars.”

If you check the ingredient list, you won’t find any sugars sneaking in there.

Get it on Amazon.

5. Silk Oat Yeah The Plain One Oatmilk

Perhaps one of the most recognized names of milk alternative brands, Silk branched out from its soy milk staple and into oat milk.

Another one of the lowest-calorie options, their plain variety comes in at 120 calories per cup.

It also provides calcium (35%), vitamin D (20%), riboflavin (25%), vitamin A (25%), and a whopping 100 percent of your daily vitamin B12.

Get it online or at a store near you.

6. Elmhurst Milked Oats

This oat milk — or “milked oats,” as they like to call it — is made from only five ingredients.

And although Elmhurst doesn’t add any gums to the mix, it does add cane sugar and “natural flavors.”

Still, it only adds up to four grams of sugar, which isn’t as bad as many other milk alternatives.

And on the plus side, a cup provides 4 grams of protein, one of the highest amounts you’ll find in oat milk.

Get it on Amazon.

How to Find the Best Oat Milk

When buying oat milk, keep in mind that most brands are very similar when it comes to ingredients and nutrition.

However, “as with any non-dairy milk, you want to make sure that it is not loaded with added sugars,” says Keri Gans, R.D.N., author of The Small Change Diet.

“Unfortunately oat milk is lower in protein than regular milk or soy milk, however, the majority of brands provide 2 to 4 grams, which is more than most other non-dairy options,” she adds.

“Most brands also provide between 2 and 4 grams of heart-healthy fiber (which is more than regular milk) and are fortified with calcium and vitamins A and D.”

When you’re perusing through all the oat milk options at the store, your best bet is to read the nutrition labels so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Whether you are a business owner, designer or someone who loves to create with stones, there is one thing you all have in common: you can’t get enough of buying tumbled stones and crystals.

Tumbled stones wholesale and crystals come in many colors and shapes, making them perfect for any project. Besides their versatility and beauty, they are also inexpensive when purchased wholesale online.

In this blog post, we will talk about the benefits of buying tumbled stones wholesale online, as well as how you can find a reputable wholesaler.

While many crystal and tumbled stones enthusiasts often try to buy crystals wholesale from gem shows where they can pick each piece by hand, it is sometimes helpful to do a catalog order for things like bulk tumbled stones and crystals.

When you are tight on time or need plenty of stones and crystals, these vendors can save the day, and buyers often end up buying them in bulk a few times a year. They play their role in helping you find exactly what you’re looking for.

1. Expanding Your Crystal And Tumbled Stone Suppliers

If you’re looking to expand your crystal and tumbled stones suppliers, or if you’re just starting to explore the idea of buying a few crystals or stones to sell as part of your crystal healing, reiki, or massage business, these wholesale tumbled stones and crystal vendors are excellent and the perfect place to start.

2. Are They Expensive?

No, many of these items are available at wholesale prices. If you’ve got a small budget, there are plenty of options to choose from that will fit the bill without breaking the bank. There is no reason you can not buy tumbled stones or healing crystals for your business if it is only starting out.

3. Can I Buy Them Online?

Of course! Many of these items are available for purchase. If you’ve got a small budget, there are plenty of options to choose from that will fit the bill without breaking the bank. There is no reason you can not buy tumbled stones or healing crystals if your business only has a small budget.

4. Are They Safe?

Yes. These crystals and tumbled stones are completely natural and come from the earth, so you know your products will be completely free of toxins or harmful materials. You can buy tumbled stones wholesale with peace of mind, knowing that none of these items have been treated in any way other than naturally occurring minerals. Nothing has ever been synthetically created or modified.

5. Is It Convenient?

Tumbled stones wholesale websites allow you to buy your stones and crystals wholesale and have them delivered right to your door. There’s no need for a special order, because these items are in-stock and ready to go. With so many options available from the comfort of your home, there is no reason you can not buy tumbled stones or healing crystals if you want them today.

6. Are They Sustainable?

These items are completely biodegradable, which makes buying tumbled stones from a wholesale supplier like ideal. If your business is eco-friendly, it’s important to ensure that the products you buy and use will not create any more waste than necessary.

Buying the perfect gift for your child is tough, right? One moment they’re into one particular thing and then before you know it they’re into something entirely different. As a parent of two kids, who are now 13 and 11, trust me I’ve been there and done it and I’ve got to say that when it comes to buying awesome children’s presents one of the first websites I visit for a bit of inspiration is Wicked Uncle. This website has literally saved me on so many occasions. I’ve always managed to get something a little bit different, and the gifts have gone down an absolute treat with my kids. From small and larger presents right through to fab little stocking filler gifts (at the risk of freaking you out, Christmas is just 4 months away!!) it has been my present buying saviour.

Now I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but this present buying malarky gets harder with each passing year. The 13-year-old mostly wants money, but let’s face it no matter what age you are, seeing a lone envelope on the table rather than a mountain of gift-wrapped presents is nowhere near as exciting. However, on the flip side, there’s nothing worse than buying a present for your kid that they don’t end up using. And as we all know, kids are blunt, like brutally blunt. If they don’t like something you are 100% going to know about it!

Over the years, I have fine tuned my gift buying process so that I’ve pretty much managed to avoid any awkward present opening moments, and I want to share my tips with you all so that you can avoid it too.

1) Check What Their Friends Are Into

I know we should be encouraging our children to be the beautifully unique humans that they are, but come on now let’s be realistic for a moment. Children are influenced by many things, but by far the most influential factor is their friends. If their friend has “an awesome doll that wees” or “this awesome robot building kit” you can bet your bottom dollar that your kid is gonna want it too!

Being a parent is kind of like being a private detective; you need to ask the right questions, interpret the answers, and do a fair bit of sneaking around. So, it’s time to don the investigative hat and make it your mission to find the perfect gift for your child and there are a couple of ways you can do this:

Scan the room – If you child is of an age where you still need to be present at play dates, next time you go round their friend’s house do a mental stock take of the toys your child plays with the most.

Interrogate – If you have a slightly older child, who can be dropped off for play dates without you needing to stay, make sure you quiz them on the way home about what they did, what they played with etc.

Listen in – Yeah OK so I know it’s a little bit sneaky, but hey it’s all with the very best of intentions. If they chat with their mates on their phones…. listen in. If they have a mate round… listen in. If they chat with their mates online… yep you got it… listen in. The older they get, the less they talk to their parents (FACT) so if you want to figure out the perfect gift for your child it’s all about being smart.

2) Check Their YouTube/TikTok/Browser history

Again, totally sneaky, but seeing as these days we’re all supposed to be internet savvy parents and keep a check on what our kids are doing online anyway, I don’t really see a problem in using this to our advantage and using the intel for some present buying inspo.

When they’re in bed or at school, hop onto their devices and firstly check the accounts they follow. This will give you an indication of the type of things they like to watch and this will usually translate into products. I remember when my daughter was younger she was obsessed with some family on YouTube who got gifted all the latest toys and they would do big product reveals. She particularly loved it when they opened up blind bags, little themed bags with surprises in them, and would ask for them for every birthday and Christmas. It was a guaranteed success.

It’s also worth checking their browser history to see what they’ve been searching for. Chances are it’s going to bring up a whole heap of random searches, but you might get lucky and spot a few product websites in there too, in which case result, you’ve hit the jackpot!

3) Get Them To Make A List

Sometimes you just need to scrap the whole surprise element and simply ask them what it is they’d like. If they’re younger, be prepared for a list as long as your arm, if they’re older be grateful if you get one as long as your little fingernail, but at least you’ll have something to go on.

Certain online stores allow you to create wish lists, so get your kids to sit down and put one together, making sure younger children don’t accidentally ‘add to basket’. Explain to them that they should aim to add items from various price brackets so that you then send this list out to relatives too – grandparents find it even harder to buy things than us parents do.

Or keep it old school and ask them to write a list out by hand, making sure you take a photo of it in case it gets lost. And if they’re struggling for inspiration, get them to check out the Wicked Uncle website that I mentioned above. It breaks presents down into categories that are relevant for certain ages, or that are more suited to boys/girls, as well as the most popular products and to suit your budget, which makes the whole searching process a lot easier.

To avoid tears on the day, make it clear that they won’t get necessarily get everything from their list, especially if there are a crazy amount of items on there. It might be worth getting them to put their most lusted after items at the top to help you out when it comes to doing your present buying.

4) Keep A Record

We all know how often kids change their minds about things and sometimes there’s the worry that if you’re too organised and buy presents too far in advance, by the time it gets round to actually giving it to them, they no longer want or like the item you’ve bought them. Which is frustrating and disappointing for everyone involved. Make sure you check, and double check and then check again, with your child before buying anything from their list and always check the refund policy… just in case.

Whenever my kids used to write letters to Santa I would make sure I took photos of them holding their letters up. Now, obviously I did this because hello cute, but also because it was a sneaky way to get a copy of the letter before it got posted off so that the kids didn’t suspect anything. Not only is it helpful at the time, it’s also useful for any future present buying occasions. What they’re into may change, but some things may also still be relevant or they may have just forgotten about them, so keep a record of both Santa letters and past birthday lists to draw inspiration from before you start your present buying.

5) Know Your Kid

You know your child better than anybody and so the most important thing to consider when researching gifts for them is to think about the type of kid they are?

Do they like dressing up? Are they into arts and crafts? Perhaps they like role play? Or maybe they like all the latest gadgets, in which case I feel your pain as I have one of those and trust me it is costly! Whatever your kid is into you can almost guarantee that if you buy them something related to their passion they will absolutely love it.

Buying the perfect gift for your child needn’t be difficult. I guess the hardest thing is the fact that there are just so many incredible toys and products out there – our kids are literally spoilt for choice these days. The good news is, that now I’ve revealed some of the things I do to find the perfect gift, it’ll hopefully help you on your way to finding a present that your child will absolutely love too.

You’ve probably been told that money can’t buy everything.

While this is true, we often overlook all the things that can’t be bought.

It isn’t always enough to be told that the most valuable things in life are free. Sometimes, we need more specific reminders.

If you’re struggling to name something money can’t buy, take a look at this list.

It can help put things in perspective and increase your appreciation for the little things.

“All the money you made will never buy back your soul.” -Bob Dylan

31 Things Money Can’t Buy

So what are some things money can’t buy? And which of the following do you want to see more of in your life?

1. Love

Love comes in many forms, but none of them can be bought or increased with money. Treasure those who are there for you when you have nothing but love to give them.

2. Friendship

True friends will stay by your side through feast or famine. No matter your financial state, be grateful for the people in your life who love you, challenge you, and help you grow.

3. Empathy

People who grow up in difficult financial situations are more likely to empathize with others than their wealthier peers.

They’re often quicker to help someone in a difficult position, even when they have little to give and receive nothing in return.

4. A Home

Yes, money can buy a house. And the more money you have, the more options there are. But money can’t make that house into a home. It’s up to you to surround yourself with the community you want.

5. Family

Families — whether blood-related or found — are a crucial part of life. No amount of money can attract the people you’ll hold closest to your heart. People like that can’t be bought, anyway.

6. Passion

Whether you’re passionate about animals, your community, or something else, you know you can’t put a price on the rush you get from focusing that passion on a project of your own.

7. Drive

Lofty goals can be intimidating, and money can’t buy you the drive you need to take action and get things done. It’s that drive that keeps you going even when success seems unlikely.

8. Discipline

Even with goals and motivation, you need discipline to get anywhere. You have to be determined to make your goals a reality. You need a workable plan. And it’s up to you to follow it.

9. Time

While money can buy you more leisure time, it can’t stop the clock from ticking. And whatever your financial status, you can choose to make the most of the time you have.

10. Joy

You’ve heard the phrase, “Money can’t buy happiness.” It’s true, but money can buy momentary pleasures. Joy, however, goes deeper and lasts longer.

Often it’s in the small moments that some people overlook. And, like gratitude, it involves a choice.

11. Excitement

No amount of money can buy the feeling of excitement you get when anticipating something that brings you joy. And It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.

12. Words

No one can pay you to say the right thing, and no amount of money can buy the words you need to hear. You can’t pay for the right words to come from the people who matter most.

13. Hugs

Hugging the right person can make any difficult situation a little bit easier. And the best thing? Hugs are free. Having money doesn’t make them warmer or more comforting, and being poor doesn’t make hugs any less special.

14. Intelligence

Social class has no effect on intelligence.

Some of the most brilliant people come from humble beginnings, and some of the wealthiest people lack common sense. There is always more to learn, and there are always ways to learn it.

15. Wisdom

Wisdom doesn’t come with age, status, or money. Wisdom comes with experience. Sometimes the poorest people give the best advice, and sometimes the answer doesn’t cost you anything.

16. Gratitude

The more you have, the more likely you are to take things for granted. This doesn’t mean it’s better to have less, but it does mean practicing gratitude is essential. It’s a simple choice you can make every day.

17. Intimacy

Human connection on a deep level is priceless. Being vulnerable and open with another person is one of the most impactful things in life. Cash can buy gold, diamonds, and jewelry, but it can never buy real intimacy.

18 .Stars

You can’t put a price on the stars and how they light up the night sky. Wealth or its absence doesn’t make you more or less likely to look up and wonder about your place in the universe.

19. Respect

Money can buy status, but it can’t buy respect. Respect is something you earn, not something you can buy. Ultimately, it comes down to the choices you make and the character those choices build.

20. Resilience

Resilience is a personality trait that comes with overcoming challenges. It cannot be bought with any amount of wealth. Be proud of your strength and resilience. It didn’t come from money. Ultimately, it depends more on choice than on external circumstances.

21. Creativity

Creativity is one of the purest things in the world. Children can make up stories in their heads. Strangers can leave incredible drawings on restaurant napkins. Creativity cannot be bought or used up. And it thrives on connection.

22. Spirituality

Whether you’re religious or not, you may have a deep and vital connection to your spirituality. However you channel or express that energy, it doesn’t come from money or depend on its abundance.

23. Dreams

Don’t let your financial situation limit your dreams and ambitions. You can still take steps, even if they’re small ones, to go after a dream and make it more real to you than before.

24. Confidence

How you feel about yourself can be impacted by many things, but ultimately, it comes down to you. You can’t rely on others to give you confidence, and you can’t buy it, either.

25. Intuition

Intuition can’t be bought. Only you know how to trust your gut in a difficult situation. And while the absence of money worries can make it easier to hear that inner voice, intuition doesn’t need money to function as it should.

26. Manners

Rich people can have terrible manners, and poor people can have excellent ones. It all comes down to the influences you had growing up and what you consider essential. Showing respect and politeness costs you nothing.

27. Health

It’s no secret that it’s easier to have good health when you’re financially well. Still, health takes more than money. You can’t be physically healthy without putting the work in, and you can’t maintain your mental health without consistent care.

28. A Good Relationship With Your Kids

No matter how rich you are, you can’t raise kids without putting in the effort.

Buying them gifts or hiring someone else to take care of them may seem like a good shortcut, but nothing is worth as much as quality time.

29. Inner Beauty

Money can buy makeup, dresses, and surgeries, but it can’t change who you are inside. As Will Smith said, “Money and success don’t change people; They merely amplify what is already there.”

30. Positivity

Optimism isn’t always easy, but rich people aren’t more likely to see the positive side of things. On the contrary, people that have less are more inclined to count their blessings.

31. Trust

No matter how much money you have, you can still be surrounded by manipulative people. Trust and loyalty are crucial to human connection, and neither can be bought. Money doesn’t make you more trustworthy.

Now that you’ve read through this list, which of these is most important to you?

If reading this brought you a sense of clarity and appreciation, what will you do today to share that with the people who make life better?

I’ve partnered with Illuminate Labs to bring you this post. All opinions are my own.

Did you know that only one out of five herbal supplements contain the listed ingredients, according to an investigation done by New York State? If most manufacturers won’t even bother to get the ingredients listed on the label right, they certainly aren’t bothering with thorough testing for contaminants. Consumer safety is a huge issue with dietary supplements in the U.S., because the market is essentially unregulated.

What Does “Essentially Unregulated” Mean?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires supplement manufacturers to have accurate labels on their products, but doesn’t have the budget to enforce this before a product hits the market (like they do with pharmaceutical drugs). Supplement manufacturers in the U.S. can go into business with no clearance by any regulatory agency, and can only be fined once damage has already been done. Clearly this isn’t a system designed to protect consumers.

The craziest part is, there aren’t even any set limits for toxic contaminants like lead or mercury! This means that a U.S. supplement manufacturer could produce a product with mercury levels well beyond what’s established to be safe, and not be breaking any rules.

How Do I Know Which Supplements Are Safe?

As a consumer reading this, you’re probably thinking: “If I do want to buy supplements, how do I know which ones to take to prevent the potential health issues associated with unregulated products?” We all know that dietary and herbal supplements can have powerful positive health effects, but the risk/reward ratio simply isn’t favorable if the products may cause harm with toxic contaminants.

The answer is simple: the only way to truly know if a supplement is safe is if the manufacturer will share the test results with you. Ideally these results should come from a third-party laboratory. The third-party (meaning an institution separate from the manufacturing company) has no economic bias to report false results like a manufacturer might with internal testing. Since the third-party institution makes money from reporting accurate test results, it’s much less likely that there will be any falsification of results.

My Recommendation for Safe, Third-Party Tested Supplements

Currently there’s only one company on the market which takes this type of testing very seriously. The company is called Illuminate Labs and they not only contract a third-party, non-profit lab to test all of their finished products, but they go as far as publishing the test results right on each of their product pages so consumers can view the results themselves. They also publish a host of medical studies on each product page showing that the herb is effective for what’s indicated on the label claim.

This company manufactures herbal supplements only. Their product line consists of herbal extracts of Panax Ginseng, Ceylon Cinnamon, Ginkgo Biloba and Ashwagandha.

Panax Ginseng has been used for thousands of years in Asia as a general tonic and mild stimulant. Recent medical studies have shown it to exert positive short-term effects on mental performance.

Ceylon Cinnamon is a different type of cinnamon than what you buy in the store, which is typically Cassia Cinnamon. Cassia, the cheaper type, is high in a toxic compound called coumarin. As concluded in this study, “the levels of coumarins in Cinnamomum Cassia appear to be very high and pose health risks if consumed regularly in higher quantities.” Ceylon cinnamon in extract form, like the supplement sold by Illuminate Labs, is more potent and therapeutic than the spice alone. It has been proven in medical research to help aid healthy glucose and cholesterol function.

Ginkgo Biloba can aid with memory & cognitive function, especially in older adults. One particularly interesting study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease in 2015 concluded that, at 240mg/day ginkgo biloba extract “is able to stabilize or slow decline in cognition, function, behavior, and global change at 22-26 weeks in cognitive impairment and dementia, especially for patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms.”

Ashwagandha is the most popular anti-anxiety herb on the market. It’s an adaptogen which helps the body cope with stress. Numerous scientific studies have shown ashwagandha extract to be effective against stress, with this meta-study from 2014 concluding that “intervention resulted in greater score improvements (significantly in most cases) than placebo in outcomes on anxiety or stress scales.”

Illuminate Labs uses the European Union contamination limits for dietary supplements as their benchmark since the U.S. doesn’t have any. Their third-party lab partner uses High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to test Illuminate Labs products for potency, which is the most expensive and accurate method of verifying the strength of an herbal extract. They take their third-party testing so seriously that they won’t sell products which don’t meet the testing limits — in fact, they’re not selling their own ashwagandha from the first round of manufacturing because it didn’t meet third-party testing for potency! It will be re-added once the next batch passes testing.

Should I Be Worried If I’ve Taken Untested Supplements for Years?

You’re likely to be fine, since the quantity of supplements by weight is quite low relative to other foods and food products you ingest. The dose makes the poison, and there is a tiny amount of heavy metals in many foods and drinks. If you’re concerned, you can see a doctor and get a heavy metals panel done. But the key takeaway here is to take supplements which have been third-party tested. If you’re spending money on products to improve your health or well-being, you might as well ensure that those products won’t actively harm you!
