Over the years since its legalization, CBD has become increasingly popular in the eyes of the Canadian population. Canadians are gradually discovering all the wonderful effects of CBD. Consequently, most of the stigma surrounding it in Canada has generally shifted to a more positive perspective.

While the positive boost has applied to most CBD products, some types of products have experienced much more growth in popularity than others. A prime example of this is full spectrum products. So, what exactly makes full spectrum CBD more special than other types of cannabidiol for Canadians to the extent that you’re likely to find full spectrum products at almost every dispensary in Canada?

How Does Full Spectrum CBD Work?

Before you learn what exactly makes full spectrum CBD so appealing to Canadians, you should first know what differentiates it from other types and how it works.

Understanding the concept of full spectrum is easy; in fact, the name itself is self-explanatory. To put it simply, full spectrum contains all of the compounds extractable from the hemp plant, and there are a lot!

The plant contains more than a hundred compounds that are similar in nature and working to CBD; however, not all of them can be considered as important. In fact, the two most important cannabinoids (compounds extracted from the hemp plant) are THC and CBD. Out of both of these, THC is famed for being a vital component of marijuana.

While full spectrum products do contain THC to a degree, there’s no reason to get alarmed. After all, it only contains 0.3% THC, which is the legal amount allowed in Canadian markets and is much less than the minimum amount required to get an individual high.

In summary, full spectrum products contain all the cannabinoids from the hemp plant, including THC and CBD; however, what exactly makes it unique? According to research, cannabidiol performs and displays its effects a lot better when paired with other cannabinoids from hemp.

It is also interesting to see that many users are choosing full spectrum products because they are the most unrefined or natural extract of the products available in Canadian markets. Another and perhaps more important reason for their popularity is the fact that full-spectrum products provide the entourage effect, which brings us to the next part of the question.

Why Do People In Canada Love Full Spectrum CBD So Much?

While there are still many speculations regarding the entourage effect of full spectrum CBD, many experts agree that the entourage effect exists mainly because every cannabinoid in the hemp plant is present in this type of product.

What exactly is the entourage effect? To state simply, whenever CBD is paired with CBN (another compound from hemp), THC, and all other hemp compounds, it creates a special relationship or balance known as the entourage effect. This means that while cannabidiol alone is beneficial for an individual, the combined ratio or the resulting entourage effect from the full spectrum variant will increase these benefits even further.

Furthermore, full spectrum CBD also contains another compound known as terpenes. Although it exists in every tree and plant, terpenes are mainly known for giving hemp the particular scent it’s known for.

However, the role of terpenes isn’t just limited to smell. It was found that terpenes in full-spectrum can interact with the endocannabinoid system within the human body to achieve the entourage effect more positively. While not every cannabinoids enthusiast loves the smell of the product, they cannot deny the fact that the presence of terpenes is vital to full spectrum and that the entourage effect would be unachievable without it.

With all said and done, full spectrum CBD because it is the most natural or raw form of cannabinoids extract available in the Canadian markets, and it also enhances the effects of all kinds of products exponentially due to all the other cannabinoids present in it. And this is precisely why it is considered a lot more beneficial and effective than other variants such as broad-spectrum or CBD isolate in Canada.

With emerging research and development in the weight loss industry, researchers are constantly assessing the role of various components in weight loss. It is no surprise that foods play an essential role in weight management. However, more than the foods, their elements are crucial to maintaining a healthy body weight and health.

Modern-day science has been studying the role of various components in weight loss. One such component is CBD or cannabidiol. Although CBD is popularly known for reducing stress and anxiety, reducing chronic pain, and improving sleep, modern research indicates there may be a connection between CBD oil and weight loss. However, data is still insufficient to prove its effect on weight loss conclusively. But, current research shows its role in weight loss.

This article briefly describes CBD’s role in weight loss and tells about things you should remember while choosing the best CBD oils.

CBD: An Overview

CBD is an effective compound in the cannabis plant. However, it does not generate a high or euphoric feeling like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), another solvent in the cannabis plant. Instead, CBD targets your endocannabinoid system, which regulates bodily functions like movement, coordination, appetite, pain, moods, etc.

Research explains that it may stimulate the browning of fat cells, which is the fat accountable for producing heat by burning calories. To make CBD oil, a manufacturer will take out CBD from the cannabis plant and then dilute it with a carrier oil like MCT oil or hemp seed oil.

CBD Oils and Weight Loss: Research Data

The most significant use of CBD oils is to ease stress, minimise anxiety symptoms, and decrease pain. However, lately, several experts have also started recommending it as an aid for weight loss. As per several studies, CBD oils offer the following benefits to enhance the weight loss process.

A study on 72 individuals shows that CBD oil consumption reduced anxiety scores in 59.2% of individuals. At the same time, it improved sleep scores in 66.7% of individuals. Research suggests that improved sleep quality and anxiety reduction help treat obesity. Furthermore, another study suggests that CBD oils have considerable potential to treat multiple anxiety disorders.

A meta-analysis explains the role of CBD in minimising stress. The analysis further states that the treatments for anxiety and stress with CBD are the most evident. In addition, several studies show that stress management positively impacts your weight loss process.

Studies suggest that cannabis/cannabinoids exhibit analgesic activity, especially in neuropathic pain. Furthermore, a 2015 study analysed the association between chronic pain and weight loss. It shows that the two conditions are significant comorbidities, adversely impacting each other. However, the nature of the relationship is not likely to be direct, but many interacting factors appear to contribute. Weight loss for obese pain patients seems to be an essential aspect of overall pain rehabilitation. Hence, obese individuals need to combat chronic pain. That explains the indirect role of CBD oils in weight loss.

Animal studies show that CBD also boosts metabolism and reduces food intake by interacting with two receptors in your body- CB1 and CB2, which play a role in metabolism. Finally, research also suggests that CBD promotes the browning of fat cells, which is a fat responsible for burning calories and generating heat.

Significant Health Benefits of CBD Oil

Fights Anxiety and Depression

The most significant reason for the widespread use of CBD oil is its ability to calm your nerves. In addition, studies suggest that CBD has considerable potential as a treatment for multiple anxiety disorders, with the need for further study of chronic and therapeutic effects in relevant clinical populations.

Treats Certain Epilepsy Syndromes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Epidiolex (a cannabidiol solution) oral solution to treat seizures associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) in patients one year of age and older. After several studies and trials, it is evident that CBD plays a role in treating epileptic seizures.

Reduces Post Traumatic Stress Disorders

PTSD is a neuropsychiatric condition that affects many individuals worldwide. Studies prove that administration of oral CBD in addition to routine psychiatric care was associated with PTSD symptom reduction in adults with PTSD. CBD also appeared to offer relief in a subset of patients who reported frequent nightmares as a symptom of their PTSD.

Relieves Chronic Pain

Chronic pain represents an emerging public health issue of massive proportions, particularly in industrialised nations’ ageing populations. Studies demonstrate the influential role of Sativex, a cannabis-derived spray, in relieving chronic pain. It was approved in Canada in 2005 to treat central neuropathic pain in multiple sclerosis and in 2007 for intractable cancer pain.

Other Benefits

Although the research studies on CBD’s benefits in the following health benefits are insufficient, several studies and research suggest that CBD oils may improve the following health issues:

May Inhibit Arthritis Symptoms

Can Ease Diabetes Complications

Can Impart Neurologic Benefits

Other fascinating findings illustrated by the WHO include and derived from a 2011 study comprise:

CBD influences tumour cells but has little impact on non-tumour cells in large amounts.

Limited research indicates no effect on embryonic growth.

CBD may result in hormonal changes, yet, these conclusions are unclear.

CBD does not affect a vast range of biochemical and physiological parameters or substantially affect animal behaviour unless there is the administration of incredibly high doses. It includes more than one hundred and fifty mg/kg iv as an acute dose or over thirty mg/kg orally every day for ninety days.

CBD may correlate with drug interactions, but this is not yet obvious.

Additionally, CBD is one of the only materials considered by the WHO to have no significant side effects or danger of dependency. However, with so many variables to contemplate about safety and dosage, it’s always wise to take advice from a doctor before planning weight loss aids or supplements, beginning a weight loss procedure, or including CBD oils.

Two Ways to Consume CBD Oils

Sublingually: Many brands approve that you use the included dropper to take the CBD oil under your tongue and hold it there for up to 1 minute before swallowing.

In Foods or Drinks: You can blend the oil into your beverage or food in food or drink. Some people choose this because you can not taste the oil as much. However, your body may not consume as much oil this way since it has to pass through your digestive tract.

Essential Tips to Choose CBD Oils for Weight Loss

Several manufacturers and brands manufacture and sell CBD oils. Almost all of them claim to have positive effects on your health. However, it is essential to remember that no one brand or type of CBD oil is best for weight loss. If you hope to use CBD oil to relieve stress, pain, or sleep issues that may allot to weight gain, emphasise selecting a quality oil overall.

Primarily, you should check the quality, safety, and transparency indicators. Then, choose featured products and brands for business and medical norms. In addition, you should also look for the following.

The manufacturing company delivers proof of third-party testing by an ISO 17025-compliant lab.

The manufacturing company publicises the source of its hemp.

According to the certificate of analysis, the oil should include no more than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

The COA ratifies tests for heavy metals, pesticides, and moulds.

You can also consider various certifications before choosing the oil.

The manufacturing process and company’s certifications

Product potency

Overall ingredients

Indicators of brand status and user confidence like:

Customer reviews

Whether the company associates with an FDA warning letter

Whether the company makes any baseless health claims

Other essential tips to look for are:

The Product is Third-party Assessed

Examine if the product has a COA from a laboratory that does not affiliate with your purchase brand. That way, you will be eligible to see whether the oil includes the amount of THC and CBD that the label says. You can also use the COA to ascertain that the product does not have pesticides, moulds, heavy metals, or other substances.

The Brand has Apparent Business Practices.

The company you are purchasing from should tell you where they take their hemp and how they make their commodities.

The Brand has a Good Reputation.

Check the FDA’s notification letter database, do online research for pending law cases and read consumer reviews before buying the product.

Those are the must-haves, but there are still a few other things to consider:

CBD Type

You can select CBD isolate, full-spectrum, or broad-spectrum products. Choose broad-spectrum or separate if you wish to drive clear of THC. Select full-spectrum if you are looking for additional benefits from the entourage effect.

Ingredients

Take a rapid scan of the ingredients list and conclude if it will work for you. For example, you’ll usually get a carrier oil and sometimes sweeteners and flavourings on the list.

Product Type

If you decide oil isn’t your best way of taking CBD, you can explore other alternatives like capsules topicals to use CBD oil.

Pros and Cons of CBD Oils

Pros:

These oils have very few side effects.

Since several brands are manufacturing them, they are easy to find.

It is easy to incorporate these oils into the daily routine.

Cons:

There is limited research on the effects of these oils.

It won’t cause weight loss on its own. Some other factors like dose and exercise also play a crucial role.

These oils can be costly.

CBD Oils: Recommended Dosage

Each product incorporated in the roundup appears with instructions for use. A helpful rule of thumb regarding dosage is to start less, trace how you feel, and reassess after one week. The quantity you take will depend on various factors, including:

Your body weight

Your goals

The oil’s potency

Your body chemistry

Experts and even the World Health Organization agree that CBD results in extreme lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, upset stomach, diarrhoea, and other unpleasant, disorienting side effects even in massive doses.

Safety and Side Effects

While the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that CBD usually is safe, there are still a few aspects to be familiar with before getting started.

CBD may result in mild side effects. These include fatigue, nausea, and changes in appetite and weight. In addition, taking CBD with a high-fat meal may enhance your absorption. However, some research indicates that taking CBD with diets high in fat can affect you to absorb more of it. Therefore, it can increase the risk of side effects.

Do not take CBD if you are nursing or pregnant. The FDA informs against consuming cannabis containing CBD while breastfeeding or pregnant. It may interact with some treatments. In addition, it comprises medications that carry a grapefruit indication. Be sure to consult with a doctor before taking CBD, mainly if you take any supplements or medications.

Conclusion

Modifying your diet and pushing your body is significant for losing weight. However, some over-the-counter commodities or treatments may boost the process. But they won’t work on their own or immediately. That said, CBD oil may help alleviate anxiety, pain, and sleep deprivation, which can impede weight loss.

According to research, some people reveal that CBD oil improves their appetite. But unfortunately, others find that it decreases their appetite. Since the research on CBD and weight loss is insufficient, consider taking advice from a doctor about how to take CBD oil on your weight loss journey.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. How does CBD oil make you feel?

A. Unlike several natural remedies, CBD does impact what you will feel. When you consume CBD, it takes about 15-45 minutes to feel any impact. Remember that it is not like THC, where you feel high, but you think of an indirect effect of relaxation and calmness.

Q. Is CBD oil safe for seniors?

A. CBD is taken by many people, including older adults, to help alleviate pain and discomfort related to common illnesses. These include anxiety, depression, joint pain, and overall pain management. However, it is always best to consult a doctor before taking CBD.

Q. What happens if you swallow CBD oil?

A. If you swallow CBD, it transits through your digestive system, and your body automatically begins to break it down. You can slow down this procedure by blending the active ingredients with other elements such as fat or using an MCT oil carrier. However, the distinction is relatively tiny.

Q. What to expect when you start taking CBD?

A. CBD relieves pain, relaxes muscles, and even helps minimise anxiety. So you will likely feel extremely relaxed and even tired. You do not need to worry about that, as most users register that fatigue symptoms disperse once you pass the 2-3 week mark. But if they don’t, try reducing your dose or consult your doctor about this.

Q. Does CBD Make you poop?

A. Though it is frequently well-tolerated, CBD can result in side effects, such as diarrhoea, drowsiness, dry mouth, reduced appetite, and fatigue. It can also interact with other treatments you are taking, for example, blood thinners. Another reason for concern is the unreliability of the dosage and purity of CBD in products.

Q. Why do you hold CBD oil under your tongue?

A. CBD oil requires it to be put under the tongue and hold for at least 60 seconds to allow enough time for the molecules to dissolve across the epithelial cells. Some early research implies that utilising a cannabidiol spray under the tongue might improve muscle mobility and pain tightness. However, it does not work on muscle tiredness, bladder control, spasms, or well-being and quality of life in patients with Multiple Sclerosis.

Q. Can I rub CBD oil on my skin for pain?

A. Although there are numerous ways to try CBD, a topical maybe your fair bet if you wish to treat skin problems or relieve pains and aches. A CBD topical is any CBD-infused cream, lotion, or salve that you can apply to the skin. In addition, you should take them orally, and you can also use them on the skin.

Q. Do you need to refrigerate CBD oil?

A. Contrary to conventional belief, CBD oil does not require refrigeration. CBD commodities have an extended shelf life on their own. It is between one and two years, so they should not go wrong or lose efficacy as long as you fulfil the adequate storage conditions.

Q. Can I drink water after taking CBD oil?

A. CBD oil also arrives in capsule form, which can be a good option for people who want to retain a consistent amount of the solution in the body. However, when you consume CBD, it passes through the digestive area. It means you might have to wait upwards for 30 minutes before encountering any effect. It is lovely to drink water generally without affecting the absorption process.

Q. How many drops of CBD oil should I take?

A. To find out how many drops of CBD oil to take, you should generally start with the essential dosage, which is around 2-3 drops, three times a day. It is reasonable to increase the regularity of the number of drops if you do not feel any side effects in the coming days. If you have any medical condition, you should consult your doctor first.

Cannabidiol and delta 8 or 9-tetrahydrocannabinol, CBD and THC have been around for several years. In recent years, however, their medical benefits have been discovered and legalized across many states and countries. Many people have been wondering about their options with cannabis since there are over 100 different chemical components that come out of it. CBD and THC are the most popular of these options due to their medical benefits. They’re both chemicals that come from marijuana and although they might seem similar, they are different in many ways.

Differences

Both CBD and THC share the same chemical formula, but they are different in chemical structure. This means that they bond to different receptors in the body even despite sharing the same chemical formula. CBD affects the endocannabinoid system in our bodies, which is found in the eyes, brains, skin, bones, and muscles.

THC affects the CB1 and CB2 receptors, which are found in the brain receptors and central nervous system. When it binds with the receptors in the brain, THC produces a euphoric feeling that makes you feel high. However, because CBD doesn’t connect with CB1 and CB2 receptors it doesn’t produce a high.

Cannabidiol can come from either hemp or marijuana while tetrahydrocannabinol only comes from marijuana.

Benefits

All studies that are done on CBD or THC are still in their early stages. However, many professionals are now using both chemical components either to treat or reduce the symptoms of several diseases. CBD and THC can be consumed through delta8 vapes, gummies, gels, and supplements, catering to different needs and preferences. They are mainly used to treat inflammatory bowel syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, epilepsy, sleep difficulties, movement disorders, opioid addiction, and symptoms of HIV/AIDS.

Other people use CBD as a treatment for many mental disorders. They are proven to reduce anxiety, stress, PTSD, and depression.

Preclinical studies claim that cannabidiol can protect against neurological diseases as it contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory components. Other studies claim that consuming moderate amounts of CBD can protect against Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, and brain ischemia.

THC can be used to reduce the pain that comes from arthritis, fibromyalgia, and migraines. It can also be helpful for those struggling with insomnia, nausea, glaucoma, and poor appetite.

Side Effects

When used unsupervised, THC can be more intoxicating than CBD. If THC is consumed in amounts more than prescribed, it can cause psychosis and panic attacks. There are some side effects to CBD as well. It can cause fatigue, diarrhea, extreme weight loss or gain, nausea, and vomiting. While THC’s primary side effects include dry mouth, paranoia, dizziness, or disorientation. Both chemical components might cause severe mood swings, anxiety, and tiredness.

Although CBD and THC come from the same cannabis plant, they have different structures, functions, and side effects. Each one of them has its own benefits that can treat or reduce the symptoms of a certain condition or illness. If you’re not sure which one you should consume, it’s better to consult a doctor. Someone who has a better understanding of your disease or disorder will be able to identify which one is better for you. They will also be able to prescribe the right dosage for you.

CBD has exploded in popularity for a range of reasons. It’s primary use and selling point is that you can use it to deal with anxiety, of course. But Nature and Bloom CBD expert Andrea Chapman points out that it can also potentially enhance your concentration and have a whole host of other mind and body benefits… including potentially helping you to lose weight.

However, before we get into the potential weight-loss benefits of CBD, it’s important to note that the research on CBD is still in its early stages. Plus, Dr. Lewis Jassey, DO, Medical Director at Leafwell, correctly offers a few points to keep in mind before you buy or try CBD.

“Products containing CBD and THCV aren’t legal everywhere, so you must check legality before purchasing or using them,” Dr. Jassey says. “CBD also isn’t regulated by the FDA, so you must be careful what products you put in your body because they could contain potentially dangerous chemicals or additives. Only buy organic products that provide third-party testing results.”

Finally, Dr. Jassey advises: “Always talk to a doctor before going on a weight-loss journey because it’s possible any CBD or marijuana products could interact with other medications you’re taking.”

That said, here are some expert claims about CBD and how it may help you lose weight. For more, don’t miss The 21 Best Weight Loss Tips of 2021, According to Experts.

Kelly Sikkema/ Unsplash

“CBD works with other cannabinoids to potentially activate many receptors, such as endocannabinoid and serotonin. This may play a role in weight loss or other critical metabolic functions,” according to Medical News Today.

Nataly Komova, RD, nutritionist and fitness expert for JustCBD, broke things down further, telling Eat This, Not That!, “CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, and based on the available studies we can expect its promising potential on both lipid and glucose metabolism through the action on various receptors.”

Danielle Edenworth, a health and fitness expert with HealthyLand, explains that while “influencing both the body and the brain,” CBD “aids weight loss by suppressing appetite” and “transforms white fat into brown fat, which aids in calorie burn.”

Shutterstock

Komova also noted that “CBD might be effective in alleviating the symptoms of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.”

Shutterstock

“To be honest, when it comes to losing weight, CBD is not your number one product,” Chapman says. “It’s true that CBD can boost your metabolism and benefit you in that area, however, it still depends on your body, since not every system is compatible with the regular use of cannabidiol as an ingredient.”

Granted, Chapman also notes that you can still use CBD in your diet due to its health benefits, but “can’t always expect it to work as an essential calorie-burner.”

Bottom line: CBD may offer some weight loss benefits, but they won’t work for everyone. What does? Eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of physical activity, practicing good sleep habits, and reducing stress as much as possible.

For plenty of years, marijuana has been used for medicinal purposes. And for good reasons, people still use cannabis nowadays, as the plant contains over 80 cannabinoids. CBD and THC are the main components from the marijuana plant, but although they’re quite similar, they deliver different effects. THC is known as the psychoactive compound from the plant, and it induces feelings of euphoria to the brain.

On the other side, CBD works the opposite. It is not psychoactive, and it does not produce a high. More and more people focus on the possible effects that CBD has on mental health. And because CBD can help with a variety of mental conditions, it’s no wonder it is so popular.

Anxiety

CBD is the most researched amongst the many supplements available for treating anxiety. Anxiety is a normal part of life. Occasionally, people can experience anxiety at different levels, from mild to severe. People with anxiety can report that they frequently feel a pressure in the chest, and fear everyday situations. Often, anxiety disorders can include feelings of panic attacks. These can interfere with daily activities and are quite difficult to control. These symptoms can come from childhood, teen years, and can continue until adulthood. To prevent these feelings, you can avoid the places and situations that might make you feel this way. CBD is known to potentially treat anxiety and social phobias.

Symptoms of anxiety:

Increased heart rate

Trembling

Feeling nervous

Feeling weak, tired

Finding it difficult to control worries

Sweating

Current research says that CBD might be the most powerful pharmacological supplement on the market for alleviating anxiety.

Insomnia

Because CBD also has calming effects, it might also treat sleep difficulties. Sleep is very important in people’s lives, as this helps us be mentally healthy. But the most majority of people do not get the right amount of sleep each night. And this is problematic since they don’t get enough sleep, they might also develop other health conditions, like depression, diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.

Another study concluded that CBD can alleviate symptoms of fear, linked to anxiety, and showed that 65% of the people using it reported improvements in sleep quality. After just a couple of weeks of taking CBD, sleep is bettered, and overall health is improved. However, further research is needed to determine the real possible benefits of CBD on sleep.

Depression

According to recent studies, people get depressed because of lots of things. Usually, there is no reason for being depressed. But we tend to react to the many situations in our lives, like social and family situations, life events, and so on. But unfortunately, depression runs in most families. Many people with a family history of depression tend to get depressed, so genes might play an important factor. However, this isn’t the only reason why people get depressed.

Brain chemistry and genes might be connected: a person who has the genes of depression is likely to have a neurotransmitter problem. Also, stress, hormones, and health say more about a person’s overall mood. Alcohol and drugs might also cause depression, especially when the addicted person doesn’t have enough.

Life is full of ups and downs, no one can argue that. Stress seems to be on the corner, but hopefully, not too often. How we react to life matters a lot. A person can contribute to depression, or it can help guard against it. People who always tend to think negatively pose a risk for developing depression. We can’t control everything, of course, but we do have control over the situations in our lives, and how we cope with them. For instance, CBD might help us make an effort and think more positively. It’s simple: you just take your dose and help yourself think that there is not a problem around you. Such efforts will help you rebuild relationships with others around you, even in the most difficult situations.

Being more positive doesn’t happen automatically, but it can protect us from being depressed all the time. Because CBD oil might have calming effects, it might also promise to help you get rid of depression.

Should You Try CBD Oil?

While CBD oil is a reliable supplement to treat the well-mentioned health conditions above, it’s safe to say that is a natural, and consistent product.

CBD may also be effective in providing relief from:

Addiction

PTSD

Schizophrenia

There is a lot of research regarding CBD, and the results are very promising. So, give it a try, but also visit your doctor first.

Forms of CBD:

Oils

Delta 8 Gummies

Tinctures

Creams

Lotions

Capsules

Pills

Edibles

Vaping

How much CBD should you take? Well, you should generally start with a lower dose, and increase it accordingly. You will notice how your body reacts to CBD, and that’s how you’ll know how to increase your dosage.

If you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition, it’s important to first address your doctor, as mentioned. Self-medication with CBD may be beneficial or may lead to worsened symptoms. In addition to your normal treatment, work with a healthcare specialist aside to monitor your symptoms. Make sure you watch for any negative side effects when taking CBD.

No long-term risks have been associated with CBD on mental health, but there’s no guarantee that there are none. So, please discuss with your doctor any possible side effects, or even before you take CBD: a reliable opinion is most helpful. Although most people do not experience any side effects, some of them might be sensitive to CBD, experiencing fatigue or diarrhea. The reason why some people might experience side effects is that they whether don’t take the recommended dose, or they didn’t purchase the right CBD product. While CBD is popular, amateurs try to imitate the product and put it on sale.

Also, if you’re suffering from a mental health condition, please realize that CBD oil is not a replacement for anti-depressants and anti-psychotics. If you take other prescribed medication, keep in touch with your healthcare provider, as CBD could interact with your medications.

Today CBD has become a household name. A great number of people are ready to spend a lot of money on this new trend – just to get rid of their various health issues. If you’re one of them, then you already know how CBD has become a natural means to prevent and cure certain medical and physical health problems. That’s why for your knowledge, these are some useful tips that will help you increase the effects of CBD oil, and you will find them impactful whether you’re using CBD oil for healing, cure or management of a physical or health related matter.

What Is CBD And How It Works?

First, for beginners, it would be ideal to explain what CBD is and how it works.

Chemically, CBD is a cannabinoid derived from a plant called Cannabis Sativa. The plant has been used to stimulate the endocannabinoid system for centuries. Its use puts endocannabinoid system into action with the stimulation of receptors in our brain. CBD1 and CBD2 are two of these receptors. So, CBD works by stimulating the CBD1 and CBD receptors to influence the endocannabinoid system in our brain. After CBD use, our brain starts producing more endocannabinoids, and, as a result, it gains more control over the pain, anxiety, stress, mood, behaviour, and nervous system.

Because CBD is a fat-soluble, it can easily pass into the bloodstreams to work quickly and efficiently.

CBD Consumption Methods

CBD can be delivered into your bloodstream differently depending on how you consume it plus which types of CBD products you would use.

The way you take it will not only affect the absorption of CBD, but further determine the effectiveness. Ideally, you should buy CBD oil to consume CBD, because this way you can use the CBD percentage to set your dosages. Afterwards, you can use CBD in these ways.

Inhalation (smoking, vaporization)

Topical application (cream, balms, ointments, lotions)

Ingestion

Sublingual (tinctures)

How To Get The Most Out Of CBD Products

Generally, CBD oil is used to get CBD into the human body, but still no straightforward and readymade solutions can be suggested directly to everyone, because different companies offering different products containing CBD in different quantities. Afterwards, due to different quantities being offered by different brands, no two acclaimed ways would have the same effect on two different people. So, it’s up to you to experiment with different products if you want to drive your own best formula for the use of CBD oil.

But some recommendations about how to enhance the benefits of CBD can be really valuable.

1. The Right Dosage Is A Good Idea

The endocannabinoid system needs a certain quantity of cannabinoids to function properly. When this balance is disrupted, CBD can set it right. But the first step to be taken before administering CBD products is reading the instructions on the bottle carefully and figuring out the exact dose. Children and pets should be given smaller doses as compared to adults. Besides, it is a good idea to start out with smaller doses and increase it gradually. The method of consuming CBD does matter too, especially if it is taken sublingually. It is mandatory to keep the tincture under your tongue for at least 30 seconds, even a little more, before swallowing to let the body absorb the CBD compound into the bloodstream and not into the gut and then the liver. So, finding the right dosage will ensure the best effect possible.

2. Add Fatty Food Into Your Diet

Fatty foods are believed to enhance the effects of your CBD. When consumed, CBD oil goes down the digestive tract into the liver where it is broken down and passed into the bloodstream. The fatty acids prevent CBD from decomposing escalating its absorption after ingestion. It is worth focusing on the following list of foods containing fatty acids:

sesame oil

chia seeds

hemp seeds

olive oil

avocado

coconut oil

sardines

nuts

eggs

trout, tuna, salmon

chocolate (cocoa powder)

Besides, omega fats (omega-3, omega-6, and others) are so far the top-reviewed fatty acids capable of bettering the effects of CBD oil. All the foods on the list are very healthy, let alone when they are paired with CBD.

3. Add CBD Into Your Favourite Drinks

To make your favourite wake-up beverage fabulous you will just have to add CBD to it. Coffee can cause many issues, such as stomachaches, nervousness, insomnia. But when added to your coffee, CBD turns it into a ‘super’ coffee and helps mitigate those conditions. But if you prefer tea to coffee, no problem. It can help you just in the same way. What is more, it will augment the beneficial effects of tea and enable you to enjoy the best of both worlds. Smoolthies are the best choice for those who take care of their precious health. Infusing them with CBD will maximize the benefits of both CBD and smoothies. This actually calls for further research and proof, but one thing is clear: it is not likely do you any harm, so you can give it a try, especially if you like varieties.

4. Try For Full-Spectrum CBD

Here a question may arise: what is full-spectrum CBD? It means that besides CBD itself all of the active cannabinoid compounds are present in CBD oil, making it more effective than pure CBD. The cutting-edge studies have proved that the therapeutic properties of the plant tend to become more effective when all of the compounds are in sync.

Final Thoughts

CBD has many amazing properties, starting from reducing pain and inflammation to relieving stress, anxiety and improving the quality of your sleep. To make it work if any of these conditions may occur you should be well-acquainted with the research, suggestions and reviews. However, there are no rigid ideas about its functioning, as each person is unique and so is his body. What can be good for you, can frustrate others. So, the above-mentioned tips are mere hearsay suggestions and should not be taken as medical advice. Yet, they sound quite reasonable and are worth trying!

Open any health, fitness, or wellness magazine and we’ll bet our bottom dollar there’ll be mention of CBD in there somewhere. CBD, or cannabidiol to give it its full name, is the magical cure all potion of the modern age, or so the companies producing it would have you believe. Research is still very new, and although some cases have proved unfounded, users claim that it has changed their lives.

One of the main reasons people are loving it so much, other than the fact it is legal (more on that later), is that it is so versatile and so convenient. It is found in all kinds of products these days, from its most common form CBD oil, through to bath bombs, dog biscuits, gummies, candles and skincare products to name but a mere few. There is no need for papers, lighters, or any of the other paraphernalia associated with cannabis, because this legal wonder drug comes ready made.

But what is the big deal with CBD, why is everyone clamouring to get in on it, and why has it become so popular?

How Is CBD Different To Cannabis?

Firstly, let’s tackle the subject of what makes CBD different to cannabis and how on earth something that derives from the same plant could possibly be legalised when cannabis itself is classed as a Class B drug.

While CBD is found in the cannabis plant, it is merely a component of it, and crucially it doesn’t contain the chemical THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the psychoactive ingredient that gets you stoned. Because it doesn’t contain THC, it is deemed safe for human consumption and is therefore considered a legal substance.

What’s So Good About It?

OK so without getting too technical on you, CBD works by aiding some of the processes in the body’s endocannabinoid system (a complex biological system in charge of cognition, memory, motor skills, pain and nervous system). This system is made up of three parts: receptors, enzymes, and endocannabinoids. When the receptors are activated it helps to ensure our systems run smoothly, and CBD is an ‘activator’, it assists activation of the receptors. It all sounds quite involved we know, but then the human body is a very complex machine, but that’s the basics for you.

Because of this, it is believed that CBD can help ease:

Seizures

Pain

Inflammation

Psychosis

Inflammatory bowel disease and other gut issues

Migraines

Nausea

Depression and anxiety

And in fact this is just a short list, because as people become more accepting of CBD and as they become more open to trying CBD as a natural supplement, other benefits of its usage are also coming to light.

CBD is certainly here to stay for the time being and we can see this continuing to be the case unless science proves otherwise. We would love to hear about your own experiences of CBD and whether it has helped you in some way, so please leave us a comment below and tell us your story.

CBD is a huge craze in wellness, and experts are saying it could really help a lot of people.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is an extract produced from the marijuana plant, but it can’t get you high because its’ levels of THC are really low (less than 0.03%). It comes in a few different forms, the most popular being pills, oil you drop under your tongue, oral spray, or topical gels and balms. It might seem a bit “woo-woo,” or even a little sketchy, but CBD is actively being researched and has shown some promising results.

With my nutrition counseling clients, I focus on their holistic health. This means taking into consideration a lot more than just how food affects their well-being. So many people struggle with sleep issues, anxiety, and chronic pain, and these can have a profound impact on health in the short and the long term. CBD is an exciting avenue to explore that shows a lot of promise. Here are three ways CBD can complement healthy lifestyle choices.

1. Sleep

You might have heard me talk about it before, but getting enough sleep is one of the most important factors when it comes to optimizing your health. Disrupted sleep has major impacts on hormones that affect your hunger and eating habits, your blood sugar, and inflammation. Studies are starting to show that taking CBD before you go to bed may improve the quality of your sleep.

2. Anxiety

Did you know your emotional stress levels have a HUGE impact on your risk for chronic disease? There are a lot of ways you can reduce your anxiety, including yoga, meditation, therapy, and mindful practices. Some people may require psychiatric meds, and that is OK – there is no shame in seeking medical treatment for anxiety. CBD could be a complement to medicine your doctor prescribes (talk to your doctor before adding CBD to a medication regimen), but may also be effective for reducing your anxiety in combination with the other self-care practices mentioned above.

3. Pain

Pain is stressful, and can inhibit daily activities including regular exercise for a lot of people. Topical CBD balms and gels have shown promising results in reducing arthritis symptoms, and oral CBD extract or oral sprays may also be very helpful in reducing pain for other conditions. The opioid addiction epidemic in the US is also a problem – CBD may help patients with chronic pain need to rely less on opioids for relief.

Safety

Current research is showing that CBD is safe for use in most people. However, there could be interactions with certain drugs or nutrients, so it is important to speak with your doctor or registered dietitian about proper dosing. The FDA has approved one specific CBD product for the treatment of epilepsy, but carefully monitors the claims that other CBD companies make about their products to protect public safety, and it is still illegal to sell CBD across state lines or in states where marijuana products are not legalized. More clinical research is definitely needed to prove the benefits of CBD. When buying CBD products you can consult your healthcare provider and follow guidelines such as these to make sure you a purchasing a safe, high-quality product.

Are you looking for natural alternatives to relieve your stress because other traditional methods of stress relief like exercise, meditation and medication aren’t working for you?

We know that stress responses are partially regulated by your body’s endocannabinoid system, which is where CBD reacts upon ingestion. So, it makes complete sense that CBD may actually help regulate stress responses.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been wondering if you should hop on the CBD oil train to relieve some of that stress. But the oil can cost so much money that it’s a little scary to try it out. Could it be a waste of money?

How do you know if CBD will really help reduce your stress?

We’ll lay out the information for you so that you can make your own informed choice about whether trying CBD oil is worth the investment.

This article is not meant to be a substitute for medical advice from your doctor.

What is CBD Oil?

You may have heard that CBD stands for cannabidiol, the chemical in cannabis and hemp plants known for its medicinal effects, such as pain relief, sleep and anti-seizure effects.

CBD oil is the concentrated form of this medicinal oil, whether it’s sourced from medicinal cannabis or industrial hemp.

But what is the difference between these two plants?

Both plants are actually forms of cannabis; it’s just that a plant must contain less than 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC), the psychoactive chemical in cannabis, to be considered industrial hemp. Hemp still contains a lot of CBD, though, which can be extracted and converted into an oil.

This means that you can find two types of CBD oils: those extracted from THC-potent cannabis plants and those from nearly THC-lacking industrial hemp. The CBD is the same no matter which plant it comes from; it’s the level of THC in the oils that differs.

Note also that hemp seed oil is different than CBD oil derived from hemp. Hemp seed oil is pressed from the seeds of the hemp plant and doesn’t contain any CBD or THC. It’s a useful oil used in manufacturing and foods.

So, if you use CBD oil derived from 100 percent industrial hemp, you are not consuming a measurable amount of THC to cause any psychoactive effects. You will only be getting the benefits of the non-high-inducing natural chemical, CBD.

But Isn’t CBD Oil Illegal?

As long as CBD oil is extracted from industrial hemp-rated plants, it’s now completely legal according to the 2018 Farm Bill, as long as they contain less than 0.3 percent THC.

Laws vary from state to state on which types of cannabis and its derivatives are legal, whether for medicinal or recreational use. Therefore, in some states, patients use CBD products that come from the full-spectrum THC-containing cannabis plant.

THC causes the “high” feeling that most people associate with cannabis, so in industrial hemp derived CBD oil, which lacks THC at a measurable amount, you don’t have to worry about being impaired and/or breaking the law.

How is Stress Defined?

Let’s define stress before giving the facts about whether or not CBD really helps lower it. For the purposes of this article, we will be talking about:

Stress Associated with Anxiety and Depression

These are serious mental health disorders that can cause physical and emotional stress. Anxiety is when fear causes a patient to go into fight-or-flight mode, activating the body’s stress response and raising adrenaline, cortisol and norepinephrine levels.

Depression and is a deep feeling of sadness and hopelessness that doesn’t go away and affects day-to-day life. It usually results from situational stress or chemical imbalances. The biggest risk in patients with depression is suicide.

Situational Stress

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Right? Sometimes, that’s easier said than done.

Life serves up some tough situations which can raise stress levels in the brain and body. This can cause similar effects to anxiety or depression, releasing the same fight-or-flight hormones that can be damaging to your health.

Situational stress is generally be managed by finding new ways of thinking, or cognitive behavioral therapy. That’s the difference between situational issues and chronic depression/anxiety.

Oxidative Stress

When the body can’t eliminate enough free radicals through use of antioxidants, they build up and cause stress. In various organs, the collection of too many free radicals can cause inflammation and tissue damage over time.

Can CBD Oil Help With Stress?

So, we come to the big question. Will CBD oil relieve your stress levels?

It’s important to remember that everyone is unique, responding differently to medications and chemicals introduced in the body.

With that in mind, you should know that the only FDA-approved use for CBD is as an anti-seizure medication. Because of the new legalization for hemp-derived products and the changing laws on medical cannabis in various states, research on the positive effects of CBD is still in its beginning stages.

Using some of the CBD studies that are out there, we’ll give you the information you need to decide whether or not CBD oil would be helpful in reducing your stress levels.

CBD Oil for Stress Associated with Anxiety and Depression

Studies say that CBD oil definitely helps alleviate some of the stress associated with anxiety and depression. One study found that CBD relieved Generalized Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) symptoms associated with public speaking.

Scientists conclude that those with SAD receive both anxiety-reducing and anxiety-causing effects from full-spectrum cannabis. They think that this is because higher levels of THC can cause anxiety symptoms, while higher levels of CBD can produce the opposite effect.

In fact, these two chemicals seem to work synergistically, balancing each others’ effects.

But more than one study has shown this anxiety-reducing effect from CBD. Another showed that CBD has been found to lower anxiety levels while being a medication with a high safety profile and few negative side effects. This study recommends further examination of CBD to be used as an anxiety-relieving drug.

Yet another study published by medical researchers shows that CBD has anti-depressive effects. This study is based on animal models with observations that can be transferred to human health.

So, the studies seem to support the use of CBD for stress related to anxiety disorders.

CBD Oil for Situational Stress

First, let’s look at the body’s response to stress. Studies have already shown that the endocannabinoid system helps regulate the hormonal response during stressful events.

CBD is a cannabinoid that affects the endocannabinoid system, helping to buffer some of the release of stress hormones. In other words, CBD helps the body regulate its response to stress.

One study used brain scans to measure how CBD affected the stress responses in subjects. The results showed that CBD lowers some of the stress response chemicals in the brain.

Scientists also found that patients who experienced anxiety before the brain scans were less anxious after being given a dose of CBD.

As far as situational stress goes, it seems that CBD can be helpful to the body’s response. Because of the way it interacts with a system so intertwined with stress response, the endocannabinoid system, CBD easily relieves stress chemicals in the body.

CBD Oil for Oxidative Stress

Many human diseases cause and are caused by oxidative stress’s tendency to damage tissues in the body (inflammation).

CBD is a cannabinoid that counteracts the effects of that oxidative stress, which means it can help repair some of the damage done by diseases and prevent them by staving off oxidative damage.

Conditions like pain, depression, immune system disorders and diabetes can all be caused by this type of oxidative inflammation, and therefore relieved through CBD action.

Another study showed that CBD lowered oxidative stress levels in heart patients with issues due to diabetes. This study further supports the idea that CBD can lessen inflammation due to oxidative stress in the body.

The Bottom Line on CBD Oil and Stress Relief

CBD oil is a complex topic debated by many. While some claim that it reduces stress levels, others say there is no proof. We’ve summarized some of the studies for you here so that you can make your own decision in the matter.

I don’t know about you, but the studies have me pretty convinced. I may finally be willing to shell out some money and order CBD oil from a reputable industrial hemp supplier.

It’s pretty evident that CBD could help with the stress in my life. It’s a natural solution that could reduce my stress hormone levels and potentially help protect my body from oxidative stress damage.

Are you ready to give CBD a try, or are you still not convinced? Hopefully, this guide will help you make the decision that is right for you.

Chances are you’ve heard about CBD; it’s hard not to. It seems like you can’t walk into any health food store or even spa without seeing CBD for sale. It’s so sought-after these days that its move passed the people-only market and is popular among the pet community too.

I couldn’t stop hearing about CBD, and how it was so amazing for everything, like anxiety, pain stress, even asthma, so I had to try it. And so, I did, every day for 30 days.

If you’re wondering what CBD is and how it can make your life a little brighter, read on.

What is CBD?

Let’s get the technical stuff out of the way first.

CBD stands for cannabidiol, THC’s non-psychoactive cousin. I’m going to repeat that – non-psychoactive, as in – will not get you high.

CBD is the second most prevalent cannabinoid in cannabis and can be derived from the marijuana or hemp plant.

CBD performs multiple functions in the human body, and the research is still growing, but one significant way that CBD works is by supplementing the endocannabinoid system (ECS).

The human ECS runs through our entire body, and it plays a critical part in our survival by maintaining homeostasis.

Bear with me; we’re almost there.

The ECS works with three components: endocannabinoids, receptors, and enzymes.

The endocannabinoids help bodily functions operate smoothly by binding to specific receptors. The enzymes break down endocannabinoids after they’ve finished doing their job.

Research shows that CBD inhibits the enzymes that break down naturally produced endocannabinoids, allowing them to stay in our bodies longer, and extending their calming and balancing effects.

One of the endocannabinoids that CBD reduces the breakdown of is anandamide, which gets its name from the Sanskrit Ananda, meaning bliss. Anandamide manages the production and uptake of serotonin and also regulates pain.

So with CBD, more of this bliss producing and pain-alleviating compound stays in our bodies for longer.

In addition to stress, mood, and pain relief, by supplementing the ECS, CBD can also help other vital body processes like immune response, sleep, appetite and metabolism, digestive function, inflammatory response, memory, pleasure and reward systems, fertility, and more stay regulated and perform optimally.

More Benefits of CBD

Clinical research on CBD is still limited, but the research that exists has found that CBD can:

What Did CBD Do For Me?

Now that you have an idea of what CBD is supposed to do, here’s what it actually did for me after 30 days.

(Here’s my review of the CBD oil I tried by the way!)

Easy Breezy Me (Well As Close As It Gets)

The main reason I wanted to try CBD was that I’m always anxious.

Everything from driving to booking flights gives me anxiety.

And let’s not forget the racing thoughts when my brain maps out every possible “what if” scenario for any action: queue racing heart and trouble breathing.

From the first time I took high-quality CBD, I almost instantly felt more mellow and way less anxious.

Over 30 days, I planned my daily CBD dose with my most anxious moments.

While CBD didn’t make my problems disappear, it made everything easier to deal with.

Even in those verge of panic attack moments where it’s hard to breathe or move, it filled me with a sense of calm, grounding, and presentness.

The anxiety that may have otherwise made me want to avoid things and head back to the comfort of my bed was put on the back burner. I was able to tackle whatever had to be done.

Fewer Aches and Pains

I don’t suffer from much physical pain in my life, something for which I have immense gratitude.

But, after arriving back in the states from traveling for five months and adjusting to the routine of things, I became a lot less active.

I went from walking miles and miles a day, going on hikes, climbing up and down cliffs, and more, to driving everywhere and not finding much time to exercise.

During the month when I was first trying CBD, I decided to work out again.

The next day my lower back was killing me. After a full dropper of CBD tincture, it completely went away.

CBD also made my menstrual cramps and body aches that come with them so much more bearable.

And CBD brought me some sweet relief from an awful migraine – the kind where every time you move, your whole head feels like it weighs a ton. After taking CBD, I stopped noticing any symptoms and was able to get on with my day.

Throughout the month, CBD also helped relieve stomach pains from indigestion when I overindulged in some not so healthy foods. It even helped keep me “regular,” if you know what I mean.

Alcohol Hangover Relief

I used to be the girl at the bar drinking straight tequila, not even shots, just straight glasses of tequila. Okay well, I took the shots too.

But I don’t drink much these days, other than some wine here or there or on special occasions.

The 30 days when I tested out CBD happened to coincide with a couple of weddings. The first wedding involved taking multiple shots for the first time in almost two years.

The second wedding was a more casual celebration with no vegan food options, which led me to foolishly drinking lots of prosecco on an empty stomach.

Rookie mistake, I know.

Both nights, I was ready for an unforgiving hangover in the morning, but CBD saved the day.

I took CBD both of the mornings after and was able to get on with my day, as usual. I wasn’t feeling 100% but close enough; no headaches, no nausea, no need to lay in bed all day.

I’d say that’s pretty impressive. Especially since the night of too many Proseccos hit me so hard that I had to leave the venue to go for a walk and keep from puking on the ride home.

Weed Hangover Relief

I’m not a big fan of the term weed hangover because I don’t think weed and alcohol hangovers are on the same page.

But, I have always experienced some symptoms after smoking weed, a “weed fog” if you will.

I don’t smoke much anymore because it usually makes me anxious. But other times with the right strain and setting, I feel on top of the world right after chilling with Mary Jane.

Either way, I usually don’t feel as great afterwards. Instead, brain fog, sleepiness, lethargy, crankiness, or the occasional slight headache settle in.

If I smoke at night, that means waking up with these symptoms the next morning.

But when I take CBD a few hours after smoking or right before bed, it feels as if I never smoked at all.

My boyfriend, who indulges in the medicinal magic of marijuana a lot more than I do also experienced these results.

CBD can counteract the effects of THC because it’s a negative allosteric modulator of the CB1 receptors.

In simpler terms, CBD and THC both bind to CB1 receptors, but in different areas.

When CBD binds, it changes the shape of the CB1 receptors. This makes THC less binding and reduces the psychoactive effects of THC.

With this reasoning, you should also be able to use CBD to reduce the effects of a too intense high, but I haven’t had to try this yet. But knowing I have the option, does relieve some of the anxiety that comes with THC.

A Reverse Tolerance

Studies show that unlike THC, CBD doesn’t build up a tolerance. Meaning if you keep taking CBD, you don’t have to take more and more each time to feel the effects.

Some people find that CBD has a reverse tolerance effect, meaning the more they take it, the less of it they need.

I mentioned before that I took my daily CBD dose when I was the most anxious. During the first week of taking CBD, there was no shortage of times that I wanted to take it. The second week was similar, but I was overall, less anxious.

During the third and fourth weeks, I felt so much less anxious than usual. I would forget to take my CBD until the late afternoon or evening or sometimes close to going to bed.

Anything that works well enough on my anxiety that I forget to take it because I’m not feeling as anxious is gold as far as I’m concerned.

A Bit of Bliss

I try to be a happy and optimistic person, and most of the time, I succeed, but I’ve also dealt with depressive thoughts and episodes since my early teens.

Sometimes these heavy, dark moments are fueled by literally nothing – my mind’s unfortunate version of a joke, and somehow, I’ve always missed the punchline.

Other times, it’s family issues. These hit me especially hard because as an empath, I feel people’s problems as my own, and feel like it’s my responsibility to fix them.

With CBD, even in these dark moments, there’s a bit of bliss that settles in for me. This little bit of bliss is enough to motivate me to get on with what I have to do with a greater sense of appreciation.

Or if I have nothing to do, it motivates me to go for a walk or paint or do something else I enjoy, which in turn boosts my mood even more.

Better Sleep and More Wakefulness

One of the noted benefits of CBD is helping relieve insomnia, so you might be wondering if it’s going to make you tired all the time.

The few times I took CBD close to bedtime, it did lead to a great night’s sleep. But when I took it during the day, it often inspired a greater feeling of wakefulness or awareness.

To better grasp how this works, it’s important to remember that CBD doesn’t work as a sedative when used as a sleep aid. Instead, it helps improve sleep by reducing anxiety and pain and bringing balance to the wake and sleep cycles.

If it helps, you can think of CBD as an adaptogen that works with your body’s natural rhythms to improve their function.

So, when taken during the day, CBD can help trigger wakefulness through its anti-anxiety and serotonin-boosting properties. At night it can help you get to sleep by relieving ailments that would otherwise keep you up.

If you’re worried about CBD making you too relaxed or not relaxed enough, many brands make specific blends designed to help you chill out or amp up.

Are There Any Downsides to CBD Oil?

I’ve been taking CBD for over 30 days now, and I haven’t noticed any downsides myself. But I’ve heard people mention that it can be rough on the liver.

The only studies that have proven a chance of liver toxicity caused by CBD have been animal studies. In these animal studies, any adverse effects are associated only with extremely high concentrations of CBD – way more than what you need.

Also, in cases related to CBD as a treatment for epilepsy, some participants reported symptoms like diarrhea, weight and appetite changes, and fatigue. These symptoms are a lot better than the side effects of pharmaceuticals for epilepsy.

Overall, research shows that CBD has a favorable safety profile in humans.

So, the cliché “even too much of a good thing can be bad” applies to CBD too. It’s all about using it in a way that helps you, not abusing it.

Getting the Most Out of CBD

To get the most out of CBD, you need to choose a reputable brand that’s using quality full or broad-spectrum hemp extract. This really matters.

You also need to play around with your dosage. I have a moderately sensitive system, so taking the recommended bottle dosage works just fine, but you might need a bit more or even less.

For the fastest and fullest effect, I like to keep the CBD tincture drops under my tongue for longer than the recommended 1-2 minutes, and I try to take it on an empty stomach.

Should You Try CBD?

Okay, CBD isn’t a cure-all, but I don’t think there is one.

But CBD does help, and it helped me a lot. Enough so that before the bottle I had for my 30 day trial period was even close to being finished, I ordered more CBD.

It might seem ridiculous for me to say that CBD has changed my life – but it has.

It’s like I have this little bottle of superpowers that gives me comfort in knowing that when I’m faced with overwhelming anxiety, I’m not feeling well because I have my period, or drank too much, or ate poorly, if I’ve strained my body, need a social boost, or need to elevate my mood, I can.

And I can do it in a natural way. That I think is something worth trying. So, if you ask me if you should try CBD, I 10/10 recommend.
