Choosing the right electronic health record (EHR) can make your life as a mental health provider much more accessible. EHRs have many benefits, including sharing information between providers, tracking patients’ progress, and improving billing accuracy.

In addition, several options are specifically designed for behavioral health care professionals, including therapists, counselors, social workers, and more.

Why EHR Is Essential

Nearly 96% of non-federal acute care hospitals have certified EHRs. In the past decade, electronic health records (EHRs) have changed the way healthcare providers work. Our EHRs keep track of everything from prescriptions to patient notes, and they make it easier than ever to access your medical history.

Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for hospitals to use electronic records system that allows doctors to write notes on patient charts electronically rather than by hand. It also allows them to access patient records instantly instead of having to wait for paper copies or CDs containing information about their patient’s conditions and treatments.

This is great news for everyone! Not only does it mean that hospitals can provide better care faster with fewer errors, but it also means patients don’t have to spend as much time waiting around at the hospital because their doctors don’t need as much time between appointments reviewing old paperwork or looking up information online.

EHRs Cater To These Professionals

The list of professionals who can use EHRs includes:

Psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers – These professionals are often trained in a variety of human behaviors and can work to treat patients with mental health disorders. They may also have had training in therapy or counseling.

Counselors – Similar to psychologists, counselors can help people develop healthy coping strategies for dealing with life’s challenges. Their work may involve individual or family counseling sessions.

They may also be involved with group therapy programs at hospitals or other institutions that provide mental health treatment services for those seeking help for their psychological issues (e.g., depression).

You’ll have to pay for each user if you’re interested in license-based software.

This type of software is more expensive than cloud-based options but often has more features. For example, a license-based program may offer advanced tracking systems that allow you to see how your patients are progressing over time, which could be helpful for making treatment decisions.

Another advantage of investing in license-based software is its flexibility.

If your practice grows or shrinks down the road, it’s easy to take on new users or remove them from the system so that no one gets left behind when someone leaves the practice.

Features To Look For In An Optimum EHR

You’ll want to consider the following features in your EHR:

Ability to track patients, including their insurance and payment information.

The ability to share information among providers. This will allow all parties involved in a patient’s care, such as therapists and psychiatrists, to access all relevant information at any time.

It can also help avoid unnecessary visits or duplicated screenings if one doctor doesn’t know something another has already done for the same patient.

A customizable design that makes it easy for staff members (such as nurses) and patients alike to use without feeling overwhelmed by unnecessary bells and whistles.

This is especially important for mental health practitioners who often work with people who don’t necessarily have computer skills; having an attractive but straightforward interface makes it easier for these patients’ caregivers not only to understand how everything works but also to take advantage of its benefits when conducting their daily routines.

With that being said, EHR adoption has grown rapidly, with the proportion of office-based physicians using an EHR nearly doubling between 2008 and 2016.

A study found that only about 30% of patients who were asked about their experience with their healthcare providers knew how to find out more information about the care they received. In this regard, having an optimum and efficient EHR is essential as it will prevent creating a gap in information.

Now, when it comes to choosing an optimum electronic health records service, there are several options that have been designed specifically for mental health care. And in this regard, the most optimum one will help run mental health practices smoother and more efficiently. It will cater to the unique and specific needs of the professionals and the industry as a whole. Whether it is a non-profit organization or a private, an efficient EHR will offer a suite of tools for all administrative and clinical needs.

Wrapping Up

With so many EHR options on the market, selecting one that’s right for you can be overwhelming. The good news is that the many choices available will suit your needs perfectly. We recommend spending some time researching the different types of software available so that you can find an option that works best for you and your practice.

Java. Joe. Cuppa. Jitter juice.

Whatever you call it, there’s a good chance you may be one of the 66 percent of Americans who drink coffee.

With most coffee drinkers averaging about three cups a day, that adds up to more than 500 million cups of coffee every single day!

However, if you also happen to be one of the many individuals looking to limit your carbohydrate intake to help you meet your weight loss goals, you may be wondering if you can still keep drinking your precious cuppa joe when you’re trying to cut back on carbs.

Does Coffee Have Carbs?

How does coffee rank on the carb meter? Very, very low — if, that is, we’re talking about a cup of black coffee.

Of course this all changes the minute you start adding cream, sugar, whipped cream with sprinkles, and caramel drizzle.

How Many Carbs Are in Coffee?

Let’s start simple.

A 12-ounce cup of black coffee — the average small cup at most coffee shops — has less than one gram of carbohydrates.

Of course, if you’re using an extra large mug or regularly downing multiple cups, that number of carbs will edge slightly north.

Still, compared to other traditional breakfast foods, it’s negligible: A bagel clocks in at 55 grams, a small banana has 23 grams, and even an 8-ounce cup of orange juice has 27 grams of carbohydrates.

Fun fact: Caffeine doesn’t impact carb count so whether you drink regular or decaf, the carbohydrates in a cup of black coffee will be the same.

If you’re ordering something other than black coffee or espresso at your local coffee shop, there’s a good chance your carb consumption will be higher.

Black coffees, Americanos, and espressos all contain less than 1 gram of carbohydrates, but lattes, mochas, and cappuccinos all bump up that count.

Compare these tall (12-ounce) coffee drinks from Starbucks, all made standard with 2 percent milk:

Can You Drink Coffee On A Low-Carb Diet?

So can you enjoy coffee on a low-carb diet?

Yes, says Martha L. Lawder, M.S. R.D.N., a registered dietitian and coffee lover — especially if it’s black coffee, espresso, or an Americano.

If you’re in the habit of adding extras to your cup of joe, be mindful, says Lawder.

This is especially important when looking at creamers, which range from simple half-and-half to nut-based milk alternatives to highly flavored nondairy creamers — all with their own carb counts that can vary wildly.

When looking on the nutrition facts panel, don’t just focus on total calories, says Lawder, since this includes protein and fats as well.

“Under ‘Total Carbohydrate,’ look for ‘added sugar,’ because this lets you know if the carbohydrate comes from nutritious milk sugar or if it comes from non-nutritious added sugar,” Lawder explains.

The Best Coffee to Drink on a Low-Carb Diet

If you want to enjoy your coffee and you’re watching your carbs black coffee is your best bet, says Amanda A. Kostro Miller, R.D., a licensed dietitian nutritionist and member of the advisory board for Healing Daily.

“Keep in mind that creams, foam, milk, sugar, honey, syrup, juices, and other flavorings can all add carbohydrates,” Miller repeats.

She recommends these low-carb-friendly coffee options that are very low in carbohydrates:

Unsweetened iced coffee, plain

Nitro cold brew, plain

Cold brew coffee, plain

Espresso

Blonde roast, plain

The Bottom Line

Coffee can definitely be a part of a low-carb diet. Just be careful about adding anything else into your cup besides the coffee.

There are few things more critical to our quality of life than the relationships we build with other people.

Positive affirmations for friends can help us nurture and strengthen our friendships.

A true friendship is precious, but anytime we interact with others, there is the potential for strife, trust issues, and other problems.

When you use affirmations for friendship, you enrich these valuable relationships.

The more you practice, the more value these affirmations will add to your friendships.

What Are Affirmations for Friends and Why Should You Use Them?

Having a close circle of trusted friends can make the good times sweeter and the difficult times more bearable.

Just like all of our relationships, friendships can sometimes become strained.

We have to nurture our friendships just as we nurture our relationships with our family members.

Positive affirmations for friends can help both you and your friends to strengthen your ties with each other.

Here are some of the benefits of using positive affirmations for friends.

Existing friendships will become stronger. Most of us have friends we have neglected, and perhaps we’ve also been neglected by our friends. Life is busy, and positive friendship affirmations help us re-connect.

Attract positive people like yourself. Positive affirmations for friendship will help you attract other positive people.

Make new friends. Making new friends can feel intimidating, especially if you lack self-confidence or are introverted. Positive affirmations for friends can help you attract new positive individuals into your life.

Weed out toxic friendships. As you become rooted in your positive affirmations for friends, you’ll find that you’re more aware of any toxic relationships lingering in your life.

Find friends with common interests. Not all of our friends will share our interests, but having some people in your life who do will improve the quality of your life.

Increase your confidence that you can make new friends. Rejection is scary. However, the truth is that other positive people would love to build new friendships, too.

Many people assume that if they don’t have a natural talent for singing, they won’t be able to achieve much, given that singing is one of those rare gifts that not everyone is blessed with. The fact is that beyond having talent, the great vocalist is someone who is passionate about their job, works really hard, and is prepared to sacrifice and go above and beyond to achieve their goals. Here is what it takes to become a great vocalist.

Passion

Singing isn’t like a standard desk job where you can just show up, do your job, and get paid – it requires a lot of time, devotion, and effort, and you’ll only be successful if you truly enjoy what you’re doing.

If you genuinely enjoy the act of singing, you’ll be able to put up the effort to learn how to sing, practice, warm up, acquire new abilities, and look for employment and chances. You could be a good vocalist, but you’ll never be a genuinely successful, great vocalist unless you first and foremost love what you’re doing. Sure, like with anything in life, there may be moments when your enthusiasm wanes, but you must love singing at its core to not just make it work, but to excel at it.

Voice Care And Health

Many people are unaware of how important it is to take care of one’s voice in order to keep it in top shape for any performance. Warming up and going out on stage to sing isn’t enough! Great vocalists prepare for their performances days, if not weeks, in advance by doing everything they can to ensure that their throat, mouth, chest, and entire body are in tip-top shape. This may entail abstaining from alcohol and certain meals, drinking just the best drink for singers, having lots of rest, and so on. There are several guidelines singers might follow, and a plan must be devised and followed after checking with a teacher and sometimes a doctor.

Singing has a lot of physicalities, just like an athlete practicing for a game, and it may have a significant influence on every aspect of a vocalist’s life. Discovering the rules of what to eat and drink, as well as what to do and what not to do, is just half the battle; a great vocalist must also ensure that they follow these guidelines! Giving up some pleasures might be difficult for some, but it is sometimes what separates the excellent from the good ones.

Time Commitment

As a vocalist, you’ll undoubtedly spend a significant amount of time on stage or in the studio singing… However, that is only a fraction of the time you must give to your profession in order to be a great vocalist. Many individuals who wish to get into music (particularly as performers) may not know this when they first start down this path: the amount of time necessary to be the best is staggering, and it’s one of the many reasons why some people leave this field.

A million and one other tasks will take up your time, in addition to playing on stage and recording music in a studio, and you won’t be able to avoid any of them. You must know your songs backward and sideways, ensuring that you comprehend everything from your breathing to your timing, among other things. After that, you must practice, practice, practice. More practice is always a good idea, even if you think you have a strong handle on the melody. With all of this in mind, it’s simple to realize how much time and effort goes into being a great vocalist.

Controlled Breathing

Forget the lyrics; arguably the most crucial aspect of singing is breathing. You may ruin the song by running out of air in the middle of a note, or you could even miss a cue because you’re too busy taking a breath. This may be a problem for all vocalists. Singing for any length of time is physically demanding, and you must be careful to manage your energy and breathe properly… or you may not make it to the end! Working with a vocal coach is an excellent approach to improving your breathing.

Enunciation

When you reach a certain stage in your career, particularly if you want to sing specific kinds of music such as classical or opera, you must concentrate on some of the more technical components of singing, such as enunciation. Enunciation is the process of pronouncing words, and while it may appear simple at first, it may rapidly become complex and challenging when singing.

It’s critical to break negative habits and build good ones if you want to be a great vocalist. It is habits that turn those who can sing into those who excel at it. Hopefully, this post was beneficial to you on your journey!

“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.”
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

“Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give.”
Eleanor Roosevelt

Happiness.

When you think about it then you may often think of the future in some way.

The dream vacation coming up, the promotion you are working towards, the baby that is on the way or the sixth date with someone new in your life.

But happiness can also be found in the small things of a regular day.

So today look for it there. Take just a few minutes and apply one of the tips below and see how it brightens your day.

1. One minute of appreciation.

Take a minute, sit down and just reflect on what you appreciate and love about your partner.

Or a friend or family member. Or yourself.

This will fill you with gratitude and redirect your focus to the positive side of things.

2. Express your appreciation.

Tell the partner, family member or friend what you came up with.

It will brighten his or her day.

And as his or her face lights up with a big smile you’ll feel happier too because emotions are contagious.

3. Take 5 minutes to see how you can help someone out.

Offer some practical help, some good advice, look something up for him or her, be encouraging and supportive or just lend a listening ear.

4. Slow down for 3 minutes.

Walk and move slower for just these few minutes. Let your thoughts slow down.

Use the 3 minutes to enjoy what is happening all around you.

Truly take it in with all your senses.

There is much simple wonder we miss each day because we are so preoccupied with our thoughts and plans for the future.

After those 3 minutes are up, continue at the slower pace if you like.

5. Be the smile you want to see in your world.

Smile more towards the people you meet and you’ll get more smiles back.

You’ll feel better. They will too.

And they will probably smile more towards the other people they meet that day.

So don’t wait for other people to smile more, be the smile you want to see in your world instead.

6. Make someone else happy.

Don’t stop at just smiles.

Give someone a big hug.

Give him or her a small or a bigger gift of some kind.

Cook their favorite food if they have had a bad day.

7. Start your day with setting a low bar for happiness.

As you open your eyes and wake up to a new day tell yourself:

“Today I will have a low bar for happiness”.

I have been using this one for quite some time now and it makes the regular day happier. I take fewer things for granted – like my food, the weather, the small gestures in my world and the small moments – and often pause to appreciate them more.

And it does not make me passive action-wise.

Instead it makes me feel more inspired, motivated and inner resistance decreases.

And so I get more of importance done.

8. Be the day you want to see.

Don’t wait for someone else to create the day you want to have.

Instead, get the ball rolling yourself.

Take action and take the first small step or steps forward:

Set up a movie night when the rain is pouring down.

Take a walk or a run in the early morning to get your energy levels for the day and week up.

9. Say yes to something new.

Something you haven’t eaten before. A new song or album. A new author or movie. A new sport. A new way to work or through your town.

By actively going outside of what is normal for you or your comfort zone you’ll discover new, wonderful things in life quite often.

This will bring happiness into your life and if you develop this habit then in my experience it will be easier to move outside of your comfort zone in bigger ways too.

10. Say no to a should.

The shoulds in life can really drag that happiness and energy down and make everything feel like heavy work.

But do you have to do all of those shoulds on your to-do list?

Or are you maybe stuck in a rut and are doing some of those things just out of old habit?

Ask yourself one of my favorite questions:

Will this matter in 5 years? Or even 5 weeks?

By zooming out like this you make it easier to see the true value of doing something.

To see it for what it really is.

And so your questioning makes it easier to simply relax and to say no to doing something because you realize that it isn’t that important anyway.

11. Take a 2 minute laugh-break.

Few things will so simply bring happiness and relieve stress as laughing. So:

Revisit one or two of those small video clips that always makes you laugh or smile.

Head over to your favorite funny comic online or in your bookshelf.

Listen a bit to a podcast or a stand-up show that you know you find funny.

12. Do what you deep down think is the right thing.

Instead of letting quick and judgmental words come of your mouth be understanding.

Instead of snacking on some candy eat a fruit or drink a glass of water.

When an impulse inside of you wants you do something that you know deep down isn’t right for you then pause.

Be still for a few moments. The impulse will pass.

And you can more easily choose to take the action you think is right in this situation.

Then appreciate that you did the right thing, give yourself a pat on the back and see how good it all feels. Continue to do this and you’ll help yourself to build a stronger self-esteem.

13. Stand still for a minute, close your eyes and just enjoy the winter sun.

I did it today and it was wonderful.

This one may however work best if you have had a rainy autumn and a winter filled with grey skies for the last few months.

Apps for Introverts to Make Friends

While none of the following are explicitly marketed to introverts, they have features that make them more introvert-friendly than some of the other apps listed in this post.

The moment you say something like, “I don’t have any hobbies,” you can see it in their faces: pity… skepticism… disbelief.

Suddenly, you’re just not that interesting.

But, really, how important is it even to have hobbies?

Other people’s hobbies sound dull, exhausting, or both. Who needs that?

And yet, if you’re thinking, “Nothing interests me enough that I’d want to make a hobby of it,” you might be wrong about that.

Curious?

Read on.

Is It OK Not to Have Hobbies?

“But what interests do you have?” they ask because there must be something.

“I have no interests,” you answer. The thing is, it’s not that you have no interest in anything beyond basic human needs. You’re just tired of people assuming you need a fascinating hobby to hold their interest.

What you do in your free time doesn’t have to meet someone else’s metric for worthiness. It just has to benefit you in some way by:

Helping you relax—or get psyched up for something;

Giving you a chance to be alone with your thoughts;

Giving you something to laugh about;

Giving you permission to chill in your own way;

Creating a time and space that’s just… for… you.

It’s not productivity or intellectual stimulation that makes something a hobby. In fact, look up the word “hobby,” and the main requirement is relaxation.

Food for thought.

Why You Are Struggling to Find a Hobby

What’s really stopping you from trying new things? Or what’s making it harder for you to feel interested in anything beyond basic human functioning?

You’re not alone in this, after all. And any of the following could be getting in the way:

Untreated Depression—making it harder to feel interested in anything

Unprocessed Trauma—wanting to avoid triggering situations

Fatigue or Low Energy—due to chronic illness or inadequate sleep

Social Anxiety or Being Asocial—makes it harder to do things with other people

Lacking Time for Personal Pursuits—too busy with work or other things

Lacking Money—which often means sacrificing leisure time for more money

You might be dealing with a combination of these, which makes it extra hard to not only find a hobby but spend any amount of regular time on it.

It doesn’t make you any less interesting or less worthy of someone’s attention. It could mean, though, that it’s time to address the things that are making life such a slog.

Not so you can win a “most interesting person” award but because you deserve it.

I Have No Hobbies: 9 Ways to Stretch Yourself and Find a Hobby You Love

Read through the hobby ideas below and list any that come to mind. It doesn’t have to appeal to anyone else. Be honest about what you like to do, even if it’s not productive or trendy.

Make a note of any points that stand out as a hobby you should try.

1. Take a closer look at an old or casual interest.

Maybe you have an old dollhouse you used to enjoy decorating—until someone implied it was “time you grew up and got a real house.”

Try making a list of all the things you’ve ever had a strong interest in, even if those things don’t sound productive. The following activities totally count:

Watching movies in a theater;

Planning road trips;

Shopping online.

You can also take a look at things you still enjoy now and then (even if only rarely):

Riding roller coasters;

Browsing used bookstores;

Bargain hunting at garage sales and flea markets.

2. Actively pursue new experiences that sound “worth a try.”

Are you considering an invitation to do something that might possibly be enjoyable? Maybe you’re debating whether to try it because “It’s not like I could do this regularly.”

It’s actually fine if you can’t. Just having that experience once, if it appeals to you at all, is worth the trepidation that goes with stepping outside your comfort zone.

You don’t even have to be passionate about it. You could try it and think, “Nope. That’s it for me, thanks.” Or it could become something you look forward to doing again.

Who knows what it could lead to—and how that one experience could change your life?

3. Give someone else’s hobby a chance.

If you draw a blank whenever someone asks, “So, what are your hobbies?” think about things you enjoy doing with your friends or family members. The shortest distance between you and a hobby you love could be someone you know.

I mean, what greater compliment could you give someone than to adopt one of their hobbies because you enjoy it so much. They got you hooked!

That said, don’t feel as if you’re locked into a hobby you picked up from someone else–simply because you want to hurt their feelings by putting it aside and choosing Netflix instead.

You can just agree to try it — no commitment required.

4. Check out your local community calendar.

Libraries often have these available for patrons and anyone new to the area. Pick one up and leaf through it for activities you might enjoy:

Cultural festivals

Readings from local authors

Grand openings of new local businesses

Discounts on admission to local attractions (museums, guided tours, etc.)

Local theatrical productions (school or community theater)

Volunteer opportunities

Townhall meetings or other civic gatherings

Get better acquainted with your community. You might make some new friends or learn something new about yourself. If it scares you a little, it’s probably worth a try.

5. Pay attention to the things you buy as “guilty pleasures.”

Maybe you’re the one that nearly cleans out your local Aldi of its 40-pc boxes of European chocolates every holiday season.

Because “this would make a great gift,” and you know, even as you tell yourself that, at least one of those boxes is going straight to your secret stash (you’ve been very good this year!).

Or maybe you splurge once a week on a trip to a shop full of interesting treasures. You always find something there that makes you smile. And lately, you’ve needed that.

Whether it’s clothing, books, home decor, or retro anything, what you’ve got there is an actual hobby. It’s something you enjoy. It lifts you up.

You’re thinking of it, now, aren’t you?

6. Try something related to work you enjoy.

If you enjoy your work and would actually spend some of your free time doing work-adjacent stuff, you could call that—or at least some of what you do — a hobby.

For example, if you’re a programmer and you work on debugging software and writing documentation for it, you might also enjoy creating mobile apps in your free time.

Or maybe you sell RVs for a living, and you spend some of your free time converting an old van into a mobile home for road trips.

Think of something you could do that relates to your job or the job you want to have. In pursuing this hobby, you may develop skills that make it easier for you to get a job you enjoy.

7. Give yourself credit for mundane interests (they totally count).

You can’t say you’re a woman or man with no hobbies if you can think of any activities you enjoy.

If thinking about what to do when nothing interests you just feels like work, think about what you’re inclined to do when you get home from work. Or what would you do if you had the weekend all to yourself?

Don’t be embarrassed if you’re thinking, “I just want to crash on the couch and binge-watch Fringe all over again. Or if you want to go to a theater alone and tune out the world, do that. Maybe you just need to catch up on sleep.

As long as you enjoy it, it doesn’t have to impress anyone else.

8. Give yourself permission to be terrible at something.

Maybe it’s tougher to be interested in something you’re not good at (yet), but that doesn’t mean you have no interest in anything.

For example, let’s say you have a tin whistle, and you’d love to play it like those folks on YouTube who are so good people actually watch their tutorials as entertainment.

But alas, when you try following along, the result makes your head hurt. Still… when you keep at it and can actually play an entire song without making too many mistakes, you feel something you’d like to feel more often.

Give yourself permission to do something badly. Everyone starts as a beginner.

9. Find a cheaper way to enjoy an expensive hobby.

Sometimes, the thing standing in your way is a lack of money to buy the thing you need to get started on something that interests you—like learning to play the clarinet or fixing up a classic racecar.

You can’t buy either one, so you’re thinking, “Well, that’s it. I’m too poor to have a hobby.”

Hold up, though. Maybe you can find the car parts you need on craigslist — or from someone you meet on an online forum. Or maybe you can rent a clarinet from a music store.

Buying new stuff isn’t the only way to try something new.

Now that you know how to find a hobby when nothing interests you (except something probably does–at least a little), what hobby should you try?

What comes to mind when you just need to relax or do something that lifts you up and helps you keep going? What are you doing when you feel most alive?

And what will you do differently today?

Today I’d like to share the most helpful and uplifting quotes on feeling lost.

Timeless thoughts that will help you to stay strong through tough times and to find your way back to yourself and to your path and journey in life.

But before we get to that here’s two things that have helped me to remember when I’ve felt lost:

You are not alone in this.

If you feel lost then that doesn’t mean you’re alone in that. We all feel that way sometimes. It’s just a natural part of life and the human experience.

It’s temporary.

Yes, it may sometimes feel like that feeling of being lost is something you’ll be stuck in for the rest of your life.

But in my experience that feeling will be replaced with an idea of what to do or maybe a step forward that you find you can take. If you keep your focus on figuring things out and on trying to move forward.

I have found that journaling about my thoughts and feelings of feeling lost, talking to someone close to me about my challenge to get some helpful input and to read about what others have done when they’ve been lost have been very helpful when I’ve felt lost.

And if you want more help when you’re facing a challenge in life have a look at this post filled with quotes on how to handle toxic and difficult people and this one that that is focused on the power of grit.

Everyone has their own fetishes. Some people like feet, while others like more extreme things like BDSM. However, just because everybody has a kink, that doesn’t mean that everybody knows what their kink is. Some people have yet to discover theirs. Understanding your kink can help to make sex more gratifying, and more enjoyable.

There are many things that you can do to find your kink, from watching internet pornography to talking to people online. This article will offer six tips that can help you to find your kink:

Sex Toys

Sex toys are a great way to explore your sexuality and find out what your kink is. The best part about sex toys is that you don’t have to worry about judgment. You can try absolutely anything, without feeling self-conscious. You are alone with your fetishes and kinks. There’s something for everybody to discover and experiment with their fantasies from realistic dildos to anal beads. You can buy sex toys online and you can buy them in-store. Most people find it much easier to buy them online because it is discreet and you can avoid the inevitable awkwardness of browsing a sex shop.

You can also try more advanced sex toys, like robots and fleshlights. These devices can be very useful in helping you to find what interests you. You could also try out VR porn in combination with sex toys. VR porn is very immersive, and many people find it more enjoyable than actual sex.

Internet Porn

Watching pornography on the internet is a fantastic way to learn about your sexuality. There are millions of pornographic videos on the internet. When you first visit a pornographic website, you will be allowed to select a category. Here is where you explore your sexuality. You can select absolutely anything, and nobody will know. If you are interested in watching same-sex porn, then you can. If you are searching for your “kink” then you will likely already have a rough idea of what you want to watch in your head. Simply find its category, and watch away.

Chat Rooms

In addition to internet pornography, you can also visit chat rooms. Chat rooms are websites where people congregate to discuss specific subjects. There are thousands of internet chat rooms dedicated to the subject of pornography. Whenever you are using a chat room, make sure to remain anonymous. The internet’s overrun with frauds, thieves, and scammers, all of whom are desperate to steal your personal information. When you are exploring something as delicate as your sexuality, you must ensure that nobody can leverage the information that you share against you and try to bribe you.

Meeting People

There are hundreds of dating applications available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Some of these applications are made specifically for no strings attached, sexual encounters. It is definitely worth making a profile on one of these applications so that you can meet people also interested in the same things as you. You will be allowed to explore your fetishes in the real world, and really test them out. Make sure to express your fetishes to the person that you are meeting beforehand, so that they can also prepare.

Escorts

If you are having trouble finding people online to meet, then you can always hire an escort. There are lots of different escorting websites online for you to visit. Make sure to carefully research an escort before you hire them. You must ensure that the person you are meeting is who they really say they are. In addition, you must ensure they are acting on their own behalf. Unfortunately, the sex industry is overrun with organized crime groups that force vulnerable women into prostitution. Don’t support these organizations. You can find out information about escorts online, as well in chat rooms, and on websites like OnlyFans.

Discussion

If you have a partner, then it’s worth discussing your kinks with them. Together, you may be able to work out what it is that you like. You will also hopefully be able to explore your kinks with your partner, which can be a very intimate and gratifying experience. Sharing what you are interested in with the person that you love can be very special for both of you. Alternatively, you could go and visit a sex therapist who will also be able to talk you through your sexuality, with a view to finding what it is that you like most.

Finding out what your “kink” is is very important. Follow this article’s guidance, and you should have no difficulty in doing so. Don’t ever be ashamed of your kinks, because they are a big part of you.

If you want to make a meal magical, learn how to cook mushrooms.

Mushrooms add nutrition and tons of flavor — if you know how to properly cook them.

“Mushrooms are low in calories and pack a nutrition punch,” says registered dietitian nutritionist Vandana Sheth, R.D.N., CDCES, FAND, author of My Indian Table: Quick & Tasty Vegetarian Recipes.

Flavor-wise, “mushrooms are low in sodium, yet high in umami, which ultimately allows you to use less salt while still achieving great taste,” adds Jackie Newgent, R.D.N., CDN, chef, nutritionist, and author of The Clean & Simple Diabetes Cookbook.

Read on to learn how to cook mushrooms perfectly — so they’re packed with flavor and never rubbery or bland!

How to Clean Mushrooms

Be careful when cleaning mushrooms. If you use too much water, they’ll take longer to crisp or brown, Newgent explains.

Instead, use a damp paper towel to brush off any debris or do a quick rinse and then pat dry.

Trim any tough stems, and you’re ready to go.

How to Sear Mushrooms

Sautéing or searing mushrooms deepens the flavor for a great side or addition to a recipe, like this chicken breast with sautéed mushrooms.

If you’re wondering how to cook oyster mushrooms or how to cook shiitake mushrooms, try this method.

It also works for pretty much any kind of mushroom, Newgent says, including white button, cremini, portobellos, beech, trumpet, maitake (hen of the woods), and lion’s mane.

If your mushrooms are different sizes, cut them into evenly sized pieces.

Heat a teaspoon of oil or butter (optional!) in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the mushrooms in a single layer. Give them plenty of room, or they’ll steam instead of brown.

Cook mushrooms for 5 minutes, or until golden brown.

Flip and repeat until golden brown.

Season to taste and serve.

How to Grill Mushrooms

Ask a chef how to cook portobello mushrooms, and they’ll likely suggest grilling since these caps won’t fall through the grates.

Sheth suggests also grilling maitake and shiitake mushrooms.

“High heat develops and enhances their flavor,” she explains.

Brush the mushrooms with oil. Add any seasonings you desire.

Grill the mushrooms directly over medium-high heat until grill marks form, about five minutes per side.

Brush with sauce or other seasonings and serve.

Grill smaller mushrooms by putting them on skewers or using a grill basket.

How to Roast Mushrooms

“Most mushrooms roast well, especially whole or quartered white button, cremini, portabella, and maitake mushrooms,” Newgent says.

So buy your favorites and try this method.

Just don’t slice them too thin — mushrooms will shrink down by about half when they cook.

Preheat the oven to 450° F.

Brush or toss the mushrooms with a teaspoon of oil and any desired seasonings. Spread them in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet or dish.

Roast for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

How to Cook Stuffed Mushrooms

Stuffed white button, cremini, or portobello mushrooms make a great appetizer or party food.

Try this recipe for spinach and cheese-stuffed mushrooms or make your own filling.

Preheat the oven to 375° F.

Stuff your mushroom caps with your desired filling. Place the stuffed caps in a baking dish.

Bake until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is steaming and cooked through, about 25 minutes.

How to Level-Up Your Mushrooms

Try these other tips to make mushrooms taste even better:

Make mushroom “meat.” Add finely chopped mushrooms to ground meat and mix well. Form the mixture into your desired shape (burger patties, meatballs, taco filling, etc.) and cook as normal until cooked through. You’ll get all the meaty flavor, with more moisture and fewer calories.

Try this slow cooker garlic and herb mushrooms recipe.

Turn mushrooms into “bacon.” Thinly slice mushrooms then mix them with oil and seasonings like smoked paprika and liquid smoke for extra “bacon” flavor. Roast at 275° F for 75 minutes, then turn off the oven and let the mushrooms crisp in the oven for 45 minutes.
