<p>Countless people found themselves gaining weight amid the pandemic, but <strong>Sherri Shepherd</strong> doesn&#8217;t number among them. In fact, the actress and comedian has managed to shed a staggering 35 pounds over the past eight months, and now, she&#8217;s working on toning up her body, too.</p>

<p>On July 7, Sherri told her Instagram followers that she was participating in a 30-day challenge as a means of shaping up.</p>
<p>&#8220;1st day of @deidamassey #30daychallenge #abchallenge …. 150 sit ups… just did my morning 50 &amp; posting to hold myself accountable,&#8221; she captioned the video. &#8220;First time I am showing my belly so be kind.&#8221;</p>
<p>In <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CRCIhaNluEE/">the clip</a>, Sherri tackles a set of crunches while holding a medicine ball, which she says helps her sit up unassisted. Sherri also spread the wealth to her fans, inviting them to join her as part of the challenge by tagging her and makeup artist Deida Massey on Instagram. <p>One of Sherri&#8217;s latest fitness obsessions isn&#8217;t something you&#8217;ll find in your average gym. Instead, the star has been roller skating her way to better health in parks, at roller rinks, and even in her home—and sharing all the highlights with her followers.</p>
<p>&#8220;Who&#8217;s going to teach me to skate!!!&#8221; she captioned a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ2VqTCFzdE/">photo of herself</a> looking rink ready in a pair of pink skates and denim shorts.</p>
<p>Sherri, who has been open about <a href="https://onedrop.today/blogs/blog/sherri-shepherd-diabetes-saved-my-life">living with type 2 diabetes</a>, says that changing her eating habits has been a major part of her recipe for weight loss, as well.</p>
<p>On May 25, Sherri shared a recipe for one of her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CPT_2iwlLa0/">favorite healthy salads</a> on Instagram, telling her followers how changing her eating habits has also changed her perspective on her overall health.</p>
<p>&#8220;Do I want a #2 with fries. Yes I do, but I love how I feel better more than that cheeseburger that would be clogging my arteries &amp; inflaming the tissue around my heart, causing diabetes to choke the life out of me. I kind of like this feeling of feeling good!&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;Just want to encourage you to put down the salt shaker, add more veggies to your plate and drink more water! You&#8217;ve got so much to live for!&#8221;</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not just diet and exercise that have helped Sherri get into amazing shape. The star says that getting into a healthier mental space has been essential for her to achieve her weight loss goals.</p>
<p>&#8220;Started this weight loss journey 8 mos ago, but making other changes in my life helped me lose even more lbs… getting consistent sleep, meditation, finding a great therapist to help me unpack hurt… forgiving those who&#8217;ve done me harm… more acceptance… less religion &amp; more relationship… discovering that God loves me no matter what (yeah I am freaky and I curse😂), more water, more walking… being thankful, finding my worth… saying no… had to say goodbye to some friends who weren&#8217;t good for me,&#8221; she captioned a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CQtmdc8FcrV/">recent Instagram photo</a>. &#8220;Peace makes the weight fall off.&#8221;</p>

<p>Now, the star has dropped a whopping 35 pounds in total since beginning her wellness journey, revealing the one thing that &#8220;makes the weight fall off&#8221; for her. <p>On June 29, Shepherd posted a photo of her newly <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CQtmdc8FcrV/">slimmed-down body</a> to Instagram, telling her followers just how she&#8217;d lost the last few pounds.</p>

<p>Instead of having a single weight loss goal in mind, Shepherd has been celebrating her non-scale victories, as well.<br />In a June 15 <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CQJOE8klhcc/">Instagram video</a>, Shepherd revealed that she&#8217;d recently challenged herself to fit into a particular outfit for an appearance on <em>The Kelly Clarkson Show</em>, a goal she was thrilled to meet. &#8220;It was my birthday goal to fit into this catsuit. With a ton of asparagus, grilled chicken, bone broth &amp; tight spanx, I did it,&#8221; she captioned the clip.</p>
<p>Shepherd has been showing off her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CPT_2iwlLa0/">culinary creations on Instagram</a>, explaining her meal choices to followers along the way. On May 25, she posted a photo of a veggie- and bean-packed salad to her account, telling her followers, &#8220;Do I want a #2 with fries. <p>Even with trainers and professional chefs available to them, it hasn&#8217;t been universally easy for celebrities to maintain their weight during the COVID-19 pandemic. Comedian and former<em> View</em> co-host <em>Sherri Shepherd</em> recently revealed that she gained 25 pounds over the past year—and now, she&#8217;s on a mission to lose it again.</p>
<p>In a new interview with <a href="https://www.closerweekly.com/posts/the-view-alum-sherri-shepherd-is-grateful-for-career/"><em>Closer Weekly</em></a>, Shepherd admitted that she&#8217;s started a new weight loss plan, and she&#8217;s hoping it will help her ditch the extra pounds soon.</p>
<p>&#8220;I gained 25 pounds during the quarantine because there was just nothing to do,&#8221; she explained. &#8220;So I started the weight-loss journey with HealthyWage.com. I love it because they give you an incentive to lose weight by winning money.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a six-month commitment. Six months goes far towards creating a healthy lifestyle, which is what I love. They don&#8217;t tie you down to one certain type of diet. It&#8217;s like you are betting on yourself to lose the amount of weight over six months. My personal goal is to lose 15 pounds,&#8221; Shepherd added.</p>

<p>Shepherd isn&#8217;t relying on exercise alone to achieve her weight loss goals. Admitting that she&#8217;d become a bit too reliant on takeout amid the pandemic, Shepherd said that she <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CMakwTjF5xZ/">planned to cook for herself</a> regularly to help maintain her health.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m trying to be more intentional about what I cook and what I eat…to maintain my weight loss,&#8221; she explained. Among her go-to recipes? Shrimp with curry powder, turmeric, lemon pepper, garlic, and salad with avocado.</p>

<p>&#8220;I went off #sugar #coldturkey in Mar 2018 and starred #keto appx June/July 2018,&#8221; she told her Instagram followers in 2019. &#8220;My weight last year I believe was 189 (too tired to look for the scale pics😂) and now I go back and forth between 159-161lbs.
