It’s the question at the back of your mind, especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed by negative experiences and ominous news reports: “Am I going to be okay?”

You’ve only got so much headspace and energy to work with.

You can’t be the world’s fixer.

You can’t even control everything that happens in your life, and that’s scary.

Sometimes, things happen that leave you feeling bruised, bleeding, and in need of a break.

You want to know: Will it be okay?

How Do I Know If Everything Will Be OK?

We know you can’t see the future, and neither can we.

So, how do you know everything will be okay?

You don’t.

All you really have to work with is now.

Whether your present actions positively impact the future is more a matter of trust than of knowing.

You could do everything right, and it could still blow up in your face. And sometimes, you do everything wrong, and something good comes out of it. Life is nuts.

So, what can you do about it?

Take responsibility for your own words and actions. Because they still matter.

Tell yourself, “I am going to be okay,” and mean it.

Take daily action to prove yourself right.

Find ways to help someone else get through a difficult time.

Find your favorite reasons to keep trying from the list below.

Will Everything Be Okay? 75 Reasons You’ve Got This

We rounded up 75 reasons to tell yourself everything will be okay, even when everything in your life feels wrong.

You don’t have to be positive all the time for these to work.

Just be open to different perspectives and willing to try something new.

1. It has to be. Or it has to be okay enough to keep trying to make things better — for you and someone else.

2. You’re stronger and more capable than you realize.

3. You’re not dead. You still have this moment and the freedom to decide how you spend it.

4. Whether you’re okay or not okay largely depends on your thinking. You have more power than you’ve used up to this point.

5. You’ve made it this far for a reason. You don’t have to know the reason yet.

6. There’s always more to learn.

7. You can breathe. Sometimes, all you need to keep going is to take a breath and to feel yourself taking it.

8. Everything will be okay because you and others like you will make sure of it. You’ll do everything you can to leave the world better than you found it.

9. You’re not alone. Even if you don’t see your team working alongside you, you’re not working alone. If your cause is just, trust that others have taken it on, too.

10. Whatever you do, small as it seems to you, matters to someone. The way you treat people has long-term cumulative effects. You are the snowball. Start rolling.

11. You don’t need someone else to give you serenity. If you want it, it’s yours already. Claim it. And show the world (and yourself) how it’s done.

12. “We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.” ― Joseph Campbell

13. You still have some risks to take to make your life what you want it to be. Don’t be afraid of failure; be afraid of standing still.

14. “Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.” ― David Richo

15. More families out there are raising strong, confident, outspoken, brave, and compassionate young women.

16. More families are raising strong, confident, kind, courageous, and compassionate young men.

17. More parents realize that the younger generations are the future and should be heard.

18. More people are waking up to the reality of privilege and no longer assuming their success is 100% their own doing. Someone who’s less successful now could have done more than you if they’d had the same opportunities.

19. More families consciously affirm and support their child’s gender and sexual identity instead of imposing one on them.

20. People are openly questioning beliefs they’d adopted to please other people — and are now working on growing into the people they want to be.

21. You are resilient — and no doubt far more resilient than you realize.

22. You have a knack for seeing the good in others and for finding the open window when a door closes in your face. And you attract those who do the same. Or they learn that from watching you.

23. You can do hard things. And you make yourself do hard things every day. It’s almost your love language.

24. “Discovering the truth about ourselves is a lifetime’s work, but it’s worth the effort.” ― Fred Rogers

25. Freshly baked bread still smells like fresh-baked bread.

26. It’s still possible to find friends who genuinely want to know how you are.

27. The people who don’t care about you have zero impact on your ability to grow.

28. “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” ― Maya Angelou

29. You are enough just as you are. You don’t need to be half of a couple to be a complete and lovable person.

30. Nothing lasts forever – even the bad things.

31. “Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” ― Fred Rogers

32. You know how important self-care is, and you’re not afraid to make room for it. What can you do for yourself today?

33. This moment is teaching you something you need to learn.

34. Even if no one else shows up for you, you can still show up for yourself. You can still show yourself you’re worth the trouble, worth forgiving, and worth taking risks for.

35. The people who challenge you can help you grow into someone you genuinely like.

36. All you need to focus on right now is doing the next right thing. Don’t worry about what it might lead to or whether it will be enough.

37. Right now, someone out there is creating a TV series or movie with your kind of humor in it. And Netflix was made for days like these.

38. Those books you bought won’t read themselves.

39. Because some things can still make you smile. Think of one as you take your next step.

40. People still offer random acts of kindness toward strangers, just because.

41. Your superpower is getting back up every time you get knocked down. You will find your way through this.

42. The next step isn’t always forward. Sometimes you have to backtrack or take a detour to find the path you need.

43. Sometimes, all you need is a little something to shake up your routine. And sometimes, you just need a different routine.

44. You’ll feel better on the other side of that thing you’ve been avoiding.

45. You don’t need easy. And you don’t need perfect. You just need to pick one idea and focus your time and energy on that. And you’ll make mistakes. Learn from them.

46. If your glass is half-full, being happy is not about using a smaller glass. It’s about making the most of every drop.

47. Hoarding good things, even if you’re “strategic” about it, is a surefire way to make sure you waste time and space. Let it go, lighten yourself, and live.

48. Time doesn’t heal all wounds. But you don’t need to be 100% healed and whole to be a force for good in this world.

49. You don’t know what’s coming next, but you’re more than capable of facing it, getting through it, and learning from it.

50. Sometimes, all you can do is keep your head above water. Other times you might float effortlessly as the waves roll in. Never assume you’ll always struggle or always find it easy. Just keep trying.

51. You’ve got 99 problems, and quitting when things get real isn’t one of them.

52. You don’t need what you can’t have. Don’t worry about whether you’ll never have it. All you’ve got to deal with is now. Make it count.

53. You don’t need the fear of punishment to treat people the way you want to be treated.

54. No religion has a monopoly on people who do good in the world.

55. Sometimes, all you can do is make your bed, brush your teeth, and dress like the world is watching.

56. You didn’t wake up this morning to just exist. And you don’t have to be a paragon of productivity to make this day worth waking up for.

57. It’s okay to feel what you’re feeling right now, even if no one else understands — even if you don’t.

58. You can still do something today to help you feel stronger and more like yourself. Your purpose isn’t about being as useful as possible to other people.

59. You have a right to defend your personal boundaries, even if no one around you respects them — especially if no one around you respects them.

60. This is an opportunity to remind yourself of what you want to do with your life. It will always matter, even when the only steps you can take are small ones.

61. No one feels beautiful or successful, or lovable all the time. No one needs to, either.

62. You don’t have to find the silver lining in everything. You’re allowed to feel hurt, disappointed, angry, or sad without trying to put a positive spin on it.

63. Your way of moving on doesn’t have to look like someone else’s. Your process is your own. Honor it.

64. Even when you admit your mistakes and apologize to those you’ve hurt, some will refuse to forgive. Your growth can’t depend on what other people think of you.

65. Your happiness cannot depend on whether the people you care about love you back. Some of them won’t. And none of them can make up for self-loathing.

66. You can look for people who make the best of any situation and learn from them wherever you are.

67. Being present for others is no substitute for showing up consistently for yourself.

68. Sometimes, self-care is seeing someone as they are and showing them love.

69. Sometimes, self-care is a good book and a silenced phone.

70. You’re allowed to be scared even when others are not. Being brave isn’t the same as being fearless.

71. You don’t need your present to be okay all the time. Your future is an extension of that. And today might be all the future you get.

72. Don’t dwell on the sins of the past. Learn from them, and keep trying to do better. That’s all anyone has a right to expect — of you or of themselves.

73. There’s no shame in asking for help when you need it. Everyone needs help sometimes. Your heroes are no exception (that’s why sidekicks are a thing).

74. You will always be the odd one out in some circles. That’s okay. Focus on being someone you can be proud of. No one else will see you through your lens.

75. Only the dead live in the past. You still have some living to do. Get on that.

Now that you’ve looked through all 75 statements on why everything will be okay — or okay enough — we hope you picked out some favorites to remember.

Some would make great journaling prompts (just saying).

And some might be just what someone you love needs to hear today.

It is every man’s worst nightmare. You fall asleep after a night out, and wake up to find yourself being accused of rape. Your life will be turned upside down whether the charges are dropped or you are convicted for this serious crime. The process can take months or even years, and if found guilty your future is bleak as a prison sentence may follow. However, you have rights according to the law so it is important to remember these steps if you have been wrongfully accused of rape:

Do Not Talk To The Police Or Anyone Else Without An Attorney Present

The most important thing is not to speak with the police or anyone else without having spoken with an attorney first. This may seem like common sense, but when someone has been accused of rape, it is easy for him or her to want to try and explain their behavior or side of the story to authorities to prove that they are innocent. However, this can often lead to more damaging information being released than would happen if you just stayed quiet about everything until your lawyer arrives at the police station. You need representation by someone who is experienced in handling these types of cases. According to an experienced Wichita Sex Crime Attorney, having a strong legal advocate to protect your interests can be the difference between being convicted or acquitted in a rape case. Thus, make sure you get a hold of an attorney as quickly as possible.

Preserve All Evidence That Could Be Used To Prove Your Innocence

This includes everything from not throwing away or sharing any clothing that you might have worn at the time of the alleged rape to saving all of your electronic communications with the accuser. If a full investigation is conducted and it is discovered that no crime occurred, then having this type of evidence could be very helpful in helping you prove your innocence. If no crime ever occurred, you will need evidence of this to show the authorities so that your name can be cleared. The best thing to do is have a plan in place with your attorney so that if you are ever accused of rape, all of this evidence will be preserved and protected immediately.

Stay Calm And Cool Despite What Is Happening

It is very easy to become hysterical, angry, and filled with rage when you are falsely accused of rape. It can be incredibly difficult to remain composed especially if you are just learning about the false accusations for the first time. However, the best thing that you can do is stay calm and try your best not to act out in any way that could be construed as giving consent. If something like this happens again in the future, it will be easier for you to prove your innocence if you were able to show how collected and innocent you truly were during these types of situations. This makes it impossible for anyone (both on the police side and the legal side) to make claims against you.

Keep A Journal

Even though this is one of the most challenging times in someone’s life, it might be a good idea to try and document everything that is happening throughout this process. This could mean keeping track of all your conversations with different attorneys or writing down how you are feeling about what has happened. If you keep an objective point of view when doing this, it will likely make it easier for you to handle these types of cases in the future if they ever come up again. Jotting things down in a journal at least once per day may also help reduce stress levels significantly. Since rape accusations can often bring about feelings of unbearable anxiety, documenting each day with at least one sentence can go a long way when trying to stay sane during these cases.

Try Living Your Life As Normally As Possible

Even though it may seem impossible to go out and do things or interact with others during this time, the best thing that you can do is continue to live your life as normally as possible. This means going to work or school, eating meals at home with your family, interacting with them on social media, etc. The more you act as nothing has happened, the better it will be for you in showing that no crime ever occurred. Even if the accuser claims that there was a penetration of any kind, having solid alibis or evidence otherwise will make it easier for you to protect yourself against these types of allegations.

Going through an accusation of rape can be one of the most frightening and stressful things that you ever have to go through. While it is important to use the above steps if you are falsely accused, it is equally important not to panic or get too stressed out either. By simply remaining collected and calm throughout the entire process, it will be much easier for you to defend yourself against this type of allegation. Just make sure you have a good lawyer on your side so that you can get through this process without any major problems.

Research shows that people tend to require more leisure time when they are stressed. This extra bit of relaxation is used to boost the drop in mood that can come with excess stress, and the resulting lift in mood can bring a decrease in stress and an increase in productivity and balance. So a reasonable amount of leisure time can be a good way to relieve stress and become more productive.

The main issue with using leisure time for stress relief is that we only have a set amount of time in the day, and this time is valuable. Increasing leisure time can feel counterproductive for busy people (which probably includes most people in need of stress relief). There’s a danger of spending too much time relaxing and thereby increasing the pressure busy people face as a result–there’s less time to get things done, so back comes the stress.

Here’s how you can use leisure time for stress relief while maintaining balance:

Be Aware Of Your Needs

There are two things that can help you to relax without throwing you into full procrastination mode: Knowing what your goals are for your leisure time and having a list in your head to meet these goals. Do you simply need a break from work because you’re becoming mentally fatigued? Or do you need to get yourself into a better mood? If you are aware of what your needs are, you’ll know when they’ve been met. Most of us benefit from doing something that gets us into a good mood. If you just need a quick mental break, read on, that’s addressed next in this article.

“It’s a good idea always to do something relaxing prior to making an important decision in your life.” ― Paulo Coelho

Find Fast-Acting Pick Me Ups

One important key to fitting leisure time into a busy schedule is to find leisure activities that meet your needs in a short amount of time. It may seem counter-intuitive to “rush” through leisure time, isn’t the whole point that you get to relax and forget about rushing for a while? However, if watching a half-hour comedy can give you an adequate sense of relaxation to meet your needs, it’s important to think of doing this instead of seeing a movie.

Finding quicker leisure activities that work for you and keeping them in mind for when you need them, leaves you with more time left over to do everything else that needs doing. Here are some quick-acting pick-me-up activities. You can use them to start your list and add to them as you find more activities you enjoy.

Take a quick walk.

Look at a funny video or two online.

Call a friend for a few minutes.

Dance to a few songs.

Do a sudoku puzzle.

Ask a kid to share their favorite joke.

Have a coffee break.

Write in a gratitude journal.

Meditate for a few minutes.

Motivate Yourself In Positive Ways

Sometimes you have the urge to take a break but you need to get back on task and stay there as soon as you can. If you’ve taken a break and need to get back to being productive, it helps to find self-motivation before you jump back into your day. Getting in touch with your inner motivation can also help you to avoid feeling depleted at the mere thought of facing the day’s challenges, and delving into procrastination mode.

But rather than beating yourself up for wanting to relax, or trying to motivate yourself with fear, here are some gentle ways to get yourself engaged in the idea of doing what needs to be done.

Review your accomplishments – When you think of the successes you’ve had already, you can find yourself wanting to do more. If you take a minute to think about all that you’ve done already, you can get yourself more excited about creating more of these accomplishments.

Think about what you’ll gain when you’re done – Why is it important for you to get back to your challenges? What do you gain? If you remind yourself of the rewards that come with getting yourself back on track, it’ll be easier to motivate yourself to cut the leisure time shorter so you can truly enjoy the rewards that come from being done.

Promise yourself rewards when you finish – If these built-in rewards aren’t enough to get you motivated to close your social media pages and get back to work, you may benefit from coming up with something extra. For example, I used to reward myself for going to the gym by letting myself get new clothes after a certain amount of visits until the workouts themselves felt like enough of a reward.

“There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither.” ― Alan Cohen

Maintain Regular Resilience-Building Habits

How would you feel if you could make yourself less reactive to stress in general? When your stress levels are lower overall, you are less likely to need as much leisure time to balance out those stressful days–your stress levels will already be somewhat managed. Fortunately, it is possible to build resilience toward stress–certain habits really do make us less reactive to it over time. Maintaining some of these habits can take time, but not as much as you’d think, and they bring other benefits as well.

Here are some of the best ways to build resilience.

Exercise regularly – It’s good for your body and your mind.

Try meditation – It’s simpler than you may think, and it really works!

Gratitude journaling – It can really build positive thinking and relieve stress. Give it a try.
