You won’t hear Vanessa Hudgens claiming her fit figure is the result of genetics alone—the star has always been vocal about just how much hard work it takes to stay in shape. In a new video posted to her Instagram Stories, Hudgens reveals the lower body workout that’s helped her tone up her glutes. However, even for an exercise devotee like Hudgens, tackling this kind of workout isn’t always a walk in the park.

On May 3, Hudgens took to her Instagram Stories to share her latest workout with fans. In the clip, Hudgens and her friend, musician GG Magree, can be seen tackling some weighted squats—although it doesn’t seem like Hudgens is having much fun.
Throughout the clip, Hudgens can be heard groaning and whimpering. “I was not ok this morning,” she captioned the video.

While Hudgens admitted to Women’s Health that she typically works out six times a week, you won’t catch her flying solo in the gym.
“I’m the type of person that needs to be in a class,” the star told PopSugar. “I need someone telling me what to do, and I love being in a group environment because I’m very competitive, so it pushes me to work harder than I would if I was by myself.”
Weight training and high-energy classes aren’t the only ways Hudgens stays fit—she’s also an avid yogi.
“I love a heated yoga class. I love to sweat,” she told Parade. “I love having to change my clothes after a workout. I think that there’s no better feeling than when you really sweat during a workout.” And for more insight into your favorite stars’ health and fitness routines, check out RHONY Star Dorinda Medley Reveals the Exact Diet That Helped Her Lose 14 Pounds.
While Hudgens admits that she sometimes finds herself unable to work out as much as she’d like while she’s spending long hours on set, she more than makes up for those missed workouts when she’s off the clock.
“I normally do a cross of Pilates, SoulCycle, and yoga. And some days when I have the time, I love doing Pilates first and then going over to SoulCycle,” she told Parade. “I love a double up! I always feel so accomplished when I double up.”
